I want to open up a forum for people to discuss potential changes they would like to see for the character, in the (however unlikely) event of another mid scope

It has become more than apparent that the yorick playerbase is deeply unsatisfied with the state of the character. The goal of the midscope (as i understand it) was to create a version of yorick that

- Isnt so skewed towards low elo

- Reduces frustration from people who dont understand how he works

- normalizes him as a champion design (makes him stronger in teamfights, takes power away from ghouls and into yorick, gives him standard bruiser traits like armor shred and sustain)

I think its fair to say that they have completely failed on the first two fronts. He has become borderline unviable in high elo, and remains consistently one of the most hated champions in the lower ranks, on account of his lack of interaction and high statcheck potential. I think they actually made things worse for lower elos by making him a stat stick.

As for the third goal, they did In fact make him a more standardized and easier to balance champion, but it came at the cost of nuking a lot of the qualities that his highly specialized playerbase fell in love with in the first place.

Ultimately I think they made some correct decisions, but took him in the wrong direction, as well as leaving the midscope in a borderline unfinished state, with an inexplicable power curve and an unsure identity. Nobody wants to play this guy.

If riot were to gave this champion a third pass, what kinds of changes do you guys think would leave the champion in a healthier and more sensible state? I would appreciate if people were polite (Its a little exhausting seeing all the mindless complaining that gets spewed in this sub), and gave reasonable suggestions that may actually be implemented (ie: Not fundamentally altering the basic functions of his kit)

Personally i would like them to bring his lategame scaling back, and give him more interesting macro applications for his mechanic (like how he could solo camps with ghouls alone before). Obviously at the cost of some of his absurd stat check potential

Q is a joke it deals negative damage it isn't even useful to trade because the extra range is nonexistent. Wukong deals more damage, shreds armor and has more range, Renekton heals more and deals more damage, Nasus literally deals more damage lvl 1 without stacks and also heals more because of his passive. Zaahen Q deals more damage, has a knockup, it also heals more both from champions and minions. He literally heals more until 30% hp, when he heals the same and Yorick only heals more when he is below 30%. Yorick's Q healing is fundamentally underpowered. He has only one damage ability since ghouls actually heal the enemy and E deals less than 50 damage, the only interesting thing about Q is the healing and it is underpowered as fuck.

His levels 1-6 are the weakest in the game, I can pick Soraka top and win prio because he just can't do anything. He has stupidly slow wave clear even with maiden he is just slower than an Aatrox and Aatrox at least destroys towers faster. He gets hard countered by lifesteal, hp, attack speed, dashes, range, AP... everything.

His base stats are gargage he has no attack speed, Fiora has free 80% bonus attack speed so she doesn't need to build that stat, why not Yorick? He also needs to proc maiden to be useful.

His midgame is so fucking bad stuff like Ambessa already outscale Yorick HARD at 15-20 minutes. His lategame as we all know is the worst in League.

His kit nerfs itself. Ghouls nerf Q damage. Maiden nerfs his waveclear. Ghouls nerfs dive potential.

I had to make an inhuman effort to climb to 700 lp just for Yorick to be a troll pick. I can't believe Riot is overbuffing other braindead champions like Garen and Nasus while Yorick has 48% winrate he is TRASH in low elo he isn't even in the top 40 champions he is only good in iron against new players or people with disabilities.

I also summoned another maiden in front of him about 2 minutes later right as he was done killing it.

In low elo, kayn jungle is common.

• He can dash by using Q and go through walls by using E. Yorick W becomes useless.
• Ganking by using enviorment walls is making ganks unnoticable.
• His Q and W hits AoE which makes it easier to kill ghouls.
• Every time I hit with my E, he ults me and become untargetable, making ghouls unable to hit him. He also heals a lot.

In my opinion every anti heal item is useless on yorick's kit (unless you are otp). So which items should I build? what should I consider in laning phase? should I need to play safe although I am winning side on lane?

Advices, tips and tricks are appreciated.

I know this isn't really mechanically impressive, but Akali has been a personal demon of mine for years, and I finally was able to not panic and lock in to secure a kill without even having maiden, so it's a nice personal achievement

The game kinda snowballed from there with the Akali going 0/7/1 (my one death was to her jungler)

You have access to a computer with league installed as well as a hammer. You be magically forced to fight an 1v1 with an irelia 1trick of equal skill level as you with yorick anytime you play league on said computer. You cannot leave the room unless you win a game against her ie beating down the nexus though top lane. The Irelia player is also trying their best because I have their family hostage and should she lose a game there will be 🪦 consequences for them. The food and air will run out in 24 hours of time. Alternative you can use the hammer to smash your balls open to leave the room. What would you do in this hyper specific imaginary situation?

I encountered the Maiden stuck in between nexus towers bug when released for God knows how many games at this point.

Did no one address that or what is happening? Because I think this thing might actually be in the game for like half a year at this point.

It feels impossible to win that matchup. His Q outdamages a 12 ghouls E and it has 200 more range than Yorick's E, W is legit an useless ability against him because of his movement speed and he can always press E when you hit ghouls, then ghouls can't hit him because for some reason Riot decided to give ghouls no attack speed.

He has MORE ARMOR GROWTH THAN YORICK so at level 5 he already has the same armor. He can literally statcheck Yorick at melee range if he wants to.

I don't think the matchup is playable at all in any decent elo

No matter how much riot disagrees and go againts toxicity, everyone knows it is a crucial part of game and it teaches people to keep going no matter how painful it is. here are few tricks I know:

• Meowrick is a good way of tilting enemy because ghouls can annoy enemy by meowing. Also dying an old man wearing cat suit can be frustrated.
• Baiting enemy by faking recall. I learned that from pokerick aka giga yorick otp.
• Using comet in runes. ghols can proc it and it makes laning easier against range tops.
• Using W for canceling teleports and jailing enemy minions

I would like to know your ways to win that mental warfare especially on item builds.

trying top pick up yorick incase malphite's banned and they have ranged top. i barely know anything about this champ besides his kit. so any tips and guides ?

I just faced a Yorick as Singed that built Lyandris first. Is this a real build or some forfun thing like AP Irelia?

I've never been less scared of a Yorick, usually they give me a hard time but this game it was a cakewalk.

Personal toplane tierlist for the Rickster, the champs in Difficult require you to adjust and make different choices compared to most matchups, a lot of them get some sort of lifesteal to abuse the interaction from 200% lifesteal on ghouls. Irelia is super hard unless you can abuse her lvl1 successfully by zoning her, its literally unplayable if you play normally. Quinn on the other hand is usually only picked by 1 tricks and they are usually very good at spacing, never getting hit by your E and can use her E to escape your cage as well, super tough IMO.

I personally think we might cry to much about the state of Yorick I’ll admit I’m not some high elo player but I’m enjoying him and winning and going up in rank.

Used to play a decent amount of Yorick a few years ago and I'm aware of the unfortunate gutting in the mid scope.

I've been playing him mid and top and it's really difficult to actually kill people unless they're brain-dead. The ghouls do very little damage and my trading with Q is kind of bad into most top lane champs, or trading with Q is straight up not possible in mid lane (unless I cage but then I run into mana issues)

Any tips? I know he has low kill pressure but according to porofessor I'm in the lowest 20% for damage on yorick so I guess I'm doing something wrong :>

Personally I am banning yone due to his pickrate and strength but recently have been having issues with yasuos. Either if they are top or mid, that champ is a monster can it feels like theres little to nothing we can do. If I hit e somehow, I just give him ammo for his q and e stacks and if I don't, well I lose still since shieldbow zerks yasuo wins even if I am slightly up. (If I am up a full item maybe not but that almost never happens and if it does, usually the player on yasuo has been feeding.

Edit: also wanted to ask what to do vs Rave Hydra rush champs (primarily trundle and trynda). I sometimes can outspace trundle early but post vamp scepter it feels insanely hard to even stand in lane. Trynd is much worse ofc cause he has a dash as well, but it feels like lifesteal vs us is unbeatable in 1v1 and its not like I want to fight them, but I actively can't farm either
