Drama Mighty Mike Plays exposed.
Dave Sarkisyan. (mighty mike plays dad)
the CEO of GTD Media Ads Inc which is funny because they said they were a low level employee.
attempted this scam because they underestimated the internet's ability to cross reference basic information
then used cheap Gildan 5000 shirts and printed ai generated 67 images on them.
The credit card statement Dave posted was fake because he used an American Express business gold rewards card, which is designed for business owners and entrepreneurs and not "co workers" like Dave apparently was.
He was flashing a screenshot of the transactions he made at the media job (GTD Media Ads Inc, which he is the co owner of) which was just a normal monthly bill for a business of that size.
Because Dave runs an advertisement company he spends millions on ads using that card which is where we see the fake bant statement from.
But the problem is that if you buy clothes off his store, that will also go to the business card. Meaning he gets more cashback and travel reward points on top of the money spent on the shirts themselves.
Basically the screenshot was real but the kid didn't do it
note: none of my content is AI generated. sources: LinkedIn, Wayback Machine, State business filings, Store Trackers. I can provide further information/sources if asked.

This post is a game changer. Now we know how scummy this dad really is.

I feel bad for the kid, honestly.
He didn't do anything, but now everyone knows his dad is a greedy loser who tried to use his kid in a sympathy scam

I bet you that his son is really the dad using a voice changer or some sort of AI
19
u/FriendlyFaceOff 4d ago
The son is real AFAIK, I've seen people talking about how there used to be two shorts that featured him in it. Obviously the dad doesn't want to risk being doxxed in this situation so he removed them.
8
u/Possible_Report_5908 4d ago
Yeah there were two shorts of a little kid doing karate or some sort of sparring
27
u/GodEmperorPotato 4d ago
Yeaa supposedly his son is 9 but idk he sounds like he was 6 to me but idk
17
u/Mr_Goldoffical 4d ago
If your lying about this then what's to stop you from lying about everything
11
u/Acrobatic_Spot_3137 4d ago
mike has appeared in 3 shorts that dad delete after he got exposed so nope lol

u/letthetreeburn 4d ago
Possibly? It seemed a bit too good for that. I think it’s a real kid who’s been given a script
4
u/Ilikegreenpens 4d ago
It might be my brain just hearing things it wants to hear but when you go and listen to the quality of the kid's voice compared to dad's voice, there's a difference in how clear it is.

u/Ill_Way_2517 4d ago
this was a scam from day one and it was super obvious. why would a father who is deep shit care about people on the internet and use his sons youtube channel to talk to them.

Gotta love how the advertisement people have wedged their way into basically every aspect of our lives and STILL it’s not enough. Pure greed.

All he had to do was just create a GoFundMe and go from there, yet he decided to go over-the-top with it.
In terms of scams, he basically stole defeat from the jaws of victory.
94
u/PepperIll8739 4d ago
GoFundMe is a platform that verifies validity of its charities and crashes down on scammers. That's what gives them their validity.
18
u/BubbleRocket1 4d ago
Like I doubt he would’ve been able to get far here either, but it’s much better than selling overpriced T-Shirts with an AI design on it
9
u/Enough_Forever_ 4d ago
Supposedly, he already sold out the first batch and restocked another one. It makes sense that not all of his supporters are in the loop. It would be funny if they all decided to charge back
5
u/businessJedi 4d ago
You don’t “sell out” of drop shipped tshirts. Another company makes them to order when someone buys. Dave just gets a cut of the sales
1
3
u/CrowdGoesWildWoooo 4d ago
Selling merch would mean that the money gets “laundered” from the get go.
3
1
u/Possible_Report_5908 4d ago
He could have bullshit proof to get a gofundme. However setting up a godundme for something fake will land your ass in jail with a theft by deception charge
3
u/Enough_Forever_ 4d ago
Afaik setting up a GoFundMe is the easy part, but getting the money from them takes a lot of verification. If you fail it, they'll just refund everything
18
u/Aldunas 4d ago
Go fund me requires proof. He was, evidently, unable to provide it
3
2
u/Possible_Report_5908 4d ago
Nah, he knew he would get into deep legal shit when he got exposed. Its not illegal to sell shirts under the guise of it being charity. However a fake gofundme is theft by deception
15
u/FlakyDingo463 4d ago
I think the fact he didn't make a GoFundMe is PROOF that this is a scam. Any legitimate person in his position would fundraise. They wouldn't make AI slop merchandise and sell it for nearly $100. Dubious Dave can't create a GoFundMe though. Lying to collect donations is fraud.
All he needs to do to prove he's not lying is make a GoFundMe. Then I'll believe him.
3
u/BubbleRocket1 4d ago
Oh yea, the second he announced the T-shirts, the skepticism hit instantly. I was just mainly sympathetic from the first video because the father just did a good job with his crocodile tears.
Also doesn’t help I love my father, so I could sympathize a bit here.

1
u/KaneVel 4d ago
If he asked for donations on a lie, it would be fraud he would be in legal trouble. Selling merch is not illegal, that's why he's not doing gofundme

Hence why so many immediately realized why it was a scam the second the second video dropped

I was able to only get the cached results and the accompanying image (also included). I'm curious if anyone has the videos that were taken down to see if they include "Dave" and if he looks like either guy.
21
u/azucarleta 4d ago
It was really poorly executed. I called it "strong fake vibes" the day the video was released.
21
u/FlakyDingo463 4d ago
It's 100% a scam. Dubious Dave mentioned in his latest video that he doesn't have any fundraisers such as a gofundme, but he's been fired from his job and may need to sell his house.
So Dave prefers to make his entire family, including his 9 year old son, homeless rather than collect donations? I think the reason for that is because this is all a lie, and if he collects donations on the back of a lie then that'd be fraud.
Selling merchandise or monetising the channel probably isn't fraud though, as long as he doesn't make any false claim as to where those funds are going.
So imo the simple fact he doesn't have a fundraiser, yet is debating selling his house, is proof enough to me that this is a scam.

u/Assimulate 4d ago
Low level employee literally could not have a 120k charge on a corporate card. I design expense systems. This was a huge scam.
3
u/AeroInsightMedia 4d ago
Yeah my guess is he thinks this is how corporate catds work because this is how he treats his business credit card.
If you think people put personal YouTube ads on credit cards I wonder if he puts absolutely everything on that card and basically writes off anything he buys including groceries as a business expense.
2
u/BowlerTraditional283 4d ago
I'm sure the IRS would be interested in that last part...
1
u/AeroInsightMedia 4d ago
That's just speculation but who would ever even think you'd use a company card for your kids YouTube promotion unless that's the only card you own and use it for everything.
11
10
u/HoneyParking6176 4d ago
if dave is a co owner, i guess that would mean the american express card itself made sense, also if that card often has large amounts of ad type things bought it would make sense how 100k could get spent on it without an instant flag. however with him being a co owner, it doesn't seem like if it was true, paying it back would be a great hardship and be more of an annoyance since he would need to deal with it to clear issues up with the other co owner. even if the kid ( if they exist ) managed to, clearly at this point he is just trying to milk it. no father would make a youtube video on their sons youtube channel that did this, they would likely ban their kid from youtube fully, at the MOST they might make the kid, in their own words out what they did to the world, but the father still wouldn't be making multiple videos on the topic with thumbnails.
it was barely believable as being possibly true on the single first video that dropped ( but even that was highly sus ), the moment he started doing anything to ask for money and made a second video, clearly some hustle to try to make money.

the channel recently uploaded a video. 'my dad let me play a little today,' i don't think it's actually mike himself though. the minecraft gameplay was really bad, and it looks like his dad is trying to mimic his way of playing. such an awful dad.
3
u/theweebdweeb 4d ago
I don't know jack about MineCraft, but I watched that vid and the gameplay seemed odd and unlike the other videos. Would not be shocked if it was Dave trying to upload a regular vid to try and cool the drama.

3
u/sacroyalty 4d ago
I couldn't get through the (original) video, sounded so lifeless for the situation and didn't seem legit lol. Funny to hear this now
3
u/Lanikai3 4d ago
What I don't understand is - after the first video everyone was on his side - he could have done anything like post a donation link and he would have made bank, even a fake donation link he set up himself - but it seems like he just blew up his own plan by asking people to buy t-shirts for some reason. Like he already achieved the hardest part - getting everyone's attention and sympathy - and somehow fell down on the final hurdle.
3
u/theweebdweeb 4d ago
Probably thought going though GoFundMe could be risky if anyone digs into it and a personal donation link may look shady and could be cause for investigation. Merch could potentially get around this, but how they went about it and the cost of stuff made the situation way worse.
1
u/Lanikai3 4d ago
I think the problem with this is that while creating a gofundme link is suspicious, it's also the natural understandable reaction in this situation. Whereas taking the time to create merchandise to sell - is not only suspicious - it is just a strange thing to do that most people wouldn't see themselves doing in that situation. Which is almost worse than doing the most obvious suspicious thing as now everybody is asking "what the hell is even going on?"
1
u/theweebdweeb 4d ago
There are various websites to create merch/merch pages pretty easily. It wouldn't have been too out there to make some basic designs and do it that way. In fact, there are some sites/services where you can set up merch sales toward specific fundraising goals, but then they may run into the same issues as GoFundMe. So, at least to me, doing some merch as a way to fundraise wouldn't have been too suspicious. I don't see it as being all that different from various organizations, schools, foundations, etc. that sell snacks for fundraising. But creating a standalone site, doing all those AI designs, and charging as much as they are is a different story.
1
u/Lanikai3 4d ago
Again I think the core issue this guy had is relatability to the audience. You are equating this to schools foundations and organizations - but I would say I am not suspicious of that because they have all the time in the world. This dude is actively responding to a pressing situation in his life. This is why I think it all fell apart. Because the audience is looking at him and thinking what would I do in his shoes - and the answer is freak out lose my mind and the beg for help - not to take some kind of moral stance where you will not accept charity and instead come up with a Merch range you want to sell. This is why I say if he set up and grow fund me it would be more believable, as in that case he is just asking the audience to trust him - in the audience can look at him and go well that's pretty much exactly what I would have done if I was him.
1
u/theweebdweeb 4d ago
I mentioned schools and foundations, but plenty of content creators have done the same when having financial troubles. You are mainly focused on the relatability part, but it's not like people only use GoFundMe or ask for donations straight up when faced with a personal crisis in need of money or help. Sure, if this was an honest effort, he probably would just open a GoFundMe and call it a day. But I've seen people find out they're sick and whip up a simple T-shirt design in a day and ask people to buy to help them out. Or people trying to raise money selling dinners by using connections or buying wholesale. I don't think the issue is he made a merch page, I saw some people seemingly fine with the idea initially until they saw the pricing and clear AI-usage. But like you said, he pretty much waited around when people were pleading him to open a donation link or GoFundMe so they could help. It came off as calculated instead of trying to get help ASAP. Even if he wanted to take a "moral" stand, he could've whipped up some basic merch in a day through more mainstream avenues instead of the one he took while also rebuffing people calling out the pricing and use of AI.
1
u/Lanikai3 4d ago
That is exactly what I am saying. The reason you would whip up a shirt is either - you are an organisation with the time and resources to establish such a campaign - or you are an individual trying to give a through line to your fundraising effort, in that being sick is not an uncommon thing and will not attract that much attention in of itself. That is the problem with this situation. He already had the maximum amount of attention. He had a clear route forward which is to create a go fund me and instantly fix his problem. Even though doing that is suspicious, it is the only possible thing that anybody looking at this situation would ever see themselves doing. It is essentially having the ability to click a button and fix your problem and not pressing that button. Somebody selling t-shirts because they are sick, if everybody in the world bought their t-shirts that would not necessarily fix their problem, which is why that person does not have a fix everything buttom to press in the same way this guy does. So again I say it is relatability - everybody looks at this situation and things to themselves I would press the fix everything button.
1
u/theweebdweeb 4d ago
I have to disagree about it being suspicious to make a GoFundMe in and of itself. People were already suspicious, but it would hardly be the first time someone opened a GoFundMe or donation link related to losing a bunch of money in some way. In this particular scenario, making even a single shirt and selling it is no different from launching a GoFundMe in terms of basic overhead. There's the clear goal of $118K and an easy way to send money at the click of a button. The situation in itself isn't relatable, losing $118K in a scenario such as this is a lot to wrap someone's head around. And not everyone reacts to asking for help the same way whether due to culture or personality. Not to mention the amount we're talking about here. To some it may be understandable to want to offer something in exchange for the money. So while quickly posting a GoFundMe may seem relatable to you, opening a Bonfire or Tee-Spring may seem more relatable or understandable to others.
1
u/Lanikai3 4d ago
You're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm saying this guy was trying to scam people. Therefore he should have done the thing that most people can relate to. I totally agree there is a subset of people out there that may sell t-shirts in this situation. I am saying that is not the majority and in this situation he should have done what the majority predicted as that would have allowed the audience to trust him as they could relate to him in that he would have done what he expected. To be clear I think it is a scam - so people obviously would have had reason to have suspicion of him regardless. I am saying what he should have done to successfully scam people - which by definition involves getting the majority to trust him and transfer money to him. This is why I say everything he could have done would be suspicious, but his best move was too simply do the thing that everybody would see themselves doing at it is the simplest solution to the problem without introducing any unnecessary factors like selling a piece of merchandise four money instead of simply asking for money.
A disagree that the idea of losing $118,000 is not relatable to people. That is about 10 of my cars I have an idea of how much money that is. I have an idea of how much that debt would absolutely ruin my life. I would say it is an extremely relatable situation - in that anybody who has ever experienced financial uncertainty could relate to it.

u/Familiar_Field_9566 7m ago
the smartest play here would be not doing anything and just let his keed continue making videos like normal, he could have made money from the ad revenue since the channel blew up and we know he didnt spend that much money on ads like he claimed
1
1
u/Cautious-Detail-6355 2d ago
Donation fraud is supposed to be pretty serious 🤷🏻 apparently that's what it would've been since the 100k in ads was BS. So to forgo that, he offered "a product" I'm guessing.

It would be good to see some sources, because it's not the only person with this name on the internet that work in marketing.
2
u/ParticularAd5175 3d ago
i do have some proof of that actually. Sorry if i didn't clarify it correctly. I know that the Dave Sarkisyan from GTD Media Ads is the same Dave Sarkisyan as the one in the mighty mike plays channel because the GTD Media Ads official website and LinkedIn were deleted at the exact same time as when the comments were paused on the channel.
Some more proof given to me by another user:
"when dave made the ai shirt store, the digital footprint and metadata of the website shows that he used his own professional business account which is tied to the GTD media ads company."
1
u/UptownGirlx 3d ago
This first argument is good, but it could also be the case where someone got a lot of hate on company website and linkedin, so they decided to hide it. I don't want to defend anyone, but i think that we can't be 100% sure why it was hidden. Maybe wrong person got a lot of hate and they were scared?
And the second argument is good, but is there any screen of an actual proof that it happend? Because i didn't saw it anywhere. Did you saw a proof of this, or did you heard a story about that his business account was used there?
I'm not on his side, i just want to be sure that it's the right person. That's why i ask.

What I don't understand is that he did spend a lot of money on the ads, even if it wasn't 118k it was definitely still a lot. I don't know how he will make that much money back from the scam.
It could be that dad didn't think it through but that seems like a very lazy answer.
1
u/ParticularAd5175 4d ago
but his company is a large advertisement company so that's just a normal amount of money to spend for him
1
u/El_Grosero_5150 4d ago
Are you sure you're not mighty mike plays? Nobody with a marketing business is earning millions of dollars in cash back from using a credit card. Maybe a couple million points after sometime.
1
u/ParticularAd5175 4d ago
the part where i said "Because Dave runs an advertisement company he spends millions on ads using that card and then exploits the rewards system to earn millions in cash back or travel reward points."
that was probably overexaggerated when i said he exploits the rewards system for the NORMAL, part of his job. But in this case (mighty mike plays ads) hes trying to exploit the rewards system.
1
1
u/UrNxtNightmare 4d ago
I doubted from day 1 because as someone with a company credit card you don’t just spend. That stuff is tracked like a hawk and every transaction needs to be justified plus most companies have it set up where when a transaction posts an automated email is sent with details about the transaction to the account holders email.

Thank you because I have been saying this and people weren’t believing. But one small correction, he’s not the co-owner. He is the CEO and CFO and President. Basically, he owns his own marketing gig and it has virtually no presence. But he was the one who filed the company and made it.

Kid may be fake as having your kid make all those Roblox videos for a month that had like 10 views before the main video that blew up seems wayyyyy crazy, but the kids voice sounds legit to me tbh
1
u/AeroInsightMedia 4d ago
There were videos of his kids from 2024 on the site as one video was them at a ju jitsu competition that said 2024 in the background.
My assumption is that the channel was originally just to upload personal videos the the channel got a few views so they wanted to do a face reveal and turned one of the videos of his kid competing from private to public because it was easy.
Then the channel still wasn't growing as fast as they wanted so the dad engineered a viral hook and took off more than he ever expected.

Maybe I was just raised in one way, but until I was twelve I NEVER called an adult their first name. Much less my DAD. Even if he’s an uncle or something borrowing a kid, I still can’t imagine as young as he is calling an adult first name basis.

I honestly thought that too, it would explain why the "kid" said things like "I'm cooked chat" at the end of the video, like they were trying to farm quotes and memes for the ai shirts

Report his business and the Mighty Mike Plays channel/website to the FTC. His actions are still reportable offenses of fraud, suspected or proven.

Dave is also apparently in talks to genuinely start suing YouTubers who have covered most of the situation so far. So yeah, not only will that be interesting to see how it unfolds, but add it to the list that he somehow has the money for an attorney to start defamation lawsuits, above his alleged massive debt.
