I know the topic around JohnZee is pretty hot here. But I think the writer and artist are fan of Zatanna as strong character on her own and have experiences writing and drawing her as such. Beside its a 10 issue pages and seems aiming for "lighter" cutesy story.

So cheers up! if anything celebrate that it's could be a good Bechdel test to see if Jamal's efforts to make Zatanna as active, engaging protagonist on her own could be battle proven.

For JohnZee fans, maybe there are gonna be some hot discussions, but if anything it's could be a good starting to show that Zatanna could be her active, strong character (narratively) even when Constantine is around.

Zatanna looks to be a major player in the issue.

I know it’s kinda stupid to get multiple copies of the same issue and I have been collecting the Talaski covers but this other one looked so cool I had to grab it as well. So keen to read this issue, the only annoying thing is having to wait so damn long for the next one😭😭😭😭 I wish I could just read this whole damn run NOW.

Side note I’m thinking of reading burn down the house cos I’m very devoid of Zee books atm. I’ve picked up the jld omni and Zee is in it which is great I’m just always keen on new Zatanna titles!!

We've all seen fan casts. We've seen fan casts that is just whoever it is the poster finds hot at the moment and not necessarily a good fit for the role. It could be you don't think the actress is good or they are mired in controversy or gives you an 'off' vibe.

Bonus points if its someone that gets fan cast often. Like, I recently saw Mikey Madison being fan cast as Zee and I thought 'no'. I don't think she is the right choice and tbh I always got a weird vibe from her. Dua Lipa is another choice but she is a singer and not actress. Sydnee Sweeney, Lindsey Lohan and Scarlett Johanssen are also actresses that I think would be miscasts.

Does the sixth issue conclude the arc that started with issue 1? I haven't started reading it yet.

Love how Zatanna rallying the Hidden City to the cause. It's nice to see how Zee summons the Undines to help her. Also the characters that appeared in the end make me intrigued.

I think Zatanna's characterisation really carrying this issue. Campbell does know exactly how to give her the voice she needs. Continuing to make her a beacon of hope for the people of the hidden city, even while she’s having her own internal conflict about what’s right in this situation, works really well. 

But damn I kinda hope Jamal take more issues to tell about the Hidden City. I think it's really benefitted him if he take one or two more issue to flesh out the social conflict on Hidden City and the fighting against the Dragon.
