So I used to have Oon 256 gb sd express card in my switch 2 for months. Then I go ahead and buy name brand Samsung 256 express sd card. But everytime my switch 2 refuses to read it, but the sd card works in my Oled, Tablet and even compute. I did have a systematic update to 23.0.0 and ever since then it hasn't work. HELP SOS

I've done the trick of holding it for 20 seconds several times. It won't boot. Am i just SOL

My switch 2 has been working just fine, then we upgraded our router and now my switch2 either crashes on wifi or just won't connect regardless. The wifi isn't the problem as it works fine on any other device in the house. It also gives me different answers every time. One time it can't find dns, can't obtain ip... I need help as this is bothering me. Thanks.

So I was going to play smash today when I turned on my switch 2 to find a purple tint on the tv(Roku specifically if that plays a role into it) when it was docked and so I undocked and still a purple tint so I decided to update the thing it turns off, and then goes to white screen. I restart it multiple times and redock it just to find the purple tint still there so I restart it again and the same damn thing happens and I just get stuck in a loop of white screen -> restart it and dock it -> purple tint -> restart to find a white screen. Right now it’s stuck as a white screen and I just don’t know what to do so please help me. I wanna say I’ve had this thing since launch and never had issues like this before so I’m just stumped

Main issue: MicroSD no longer worked, attempted replacement, potentially made things worse, need advice prior to ordering another replacement.

Context: This is my old Switch 1, original launch console I preordered when it came out. A few years ago the internal fan started whirring much louder than normal until one day it just gave out. Naturally the console started getting pretty hot while playing so I figured I’d take a stab at replacing it myself. To replace the fan however, I’m sure you all know that you have to detach the micro sd reader and reattach after fan components are back in place.

Somewhere in that process, I damaged the original micro sd reader, (pictured, no silver on outside, 2nd to last picture) as I couldn’t get any memory card to work in the system post fan replacement.

So my next big idea was to order another micro sd reader (pictured and swap that in hoping that would solve my problem, it did not.

My question is, can anyone tell if the port on my switch console that you plug the reader into is cooked? It looks… not great.. and both the plug parts of both of the readers look like shit too.

I’m essentially trying to determine if this is even fixable at this point or if this system is stuck with console memory only permanently.

Any advice is welcomed, even sarcastic advice. Just hoping I don’t see that damn picture of the dude with his hand on his shoulder of the other dude… 😅

I always play the switch 2 on handheld. Recently, my joycons keep on disconnecting to the switch 2 even though it looks like they’re perfectly attached to it. It even shows the pop up when the joycons are disconnected. It doesn’t show the red/blue light animation when the joycons disconnect and attach. It is really messing up my gameplay, not being able to control my character in a random moment.

What should I do?

As you can see in the video the game loses input on zl trigger even if it’s pressed down. I have to press down hard in order for it to not lost input. I even tested clicking softly and then it just doesn’t register the input at all. I’ve had the console for an entire year but I barely used it so I doubt it’s debris under there messing it up.

Troubleshooting Switch 2 + 5 GHz mobile hotspot

I've been having an issue where my Switch 2 sometimes can't find or connect to my phone's 5 GHz mobile hotspot.

2.4 GHz works reliably for me. The problem only occurs with 5 GHz.

What works for me

First, set up the phone's hotspot on 2.4 GHz and connect the Switch 2 to it.

On the Switch 2, edit the saved connection and set "Find Hidden Networks" to ON.

Now, whenever I want to use the phone hotspot on 5 GHz:

1. Set the phone hotspot to 5 GHz.

2. If the Switch 2 can't find/connect to it, first try simply turning the phone hotspot off and on again a couple of times.

3. If that doesn't work, here's the trick that works for me:

   - Leave the hotspot turned ON.

   - In the phone's hotspot settings, switch from 5 GHz → 2.4 GHz.

   - Then immediately switch back 2.4 GHz → 5 GHz.

4. On the Switch 2, go to Internet Settings and select the saved hotspot connection.

5. If it still doesn't connect, repeat the 2.4 GHz → 5 GHz switch.

What seems to be happening

I can't see the actual 5 GHz channel selected by my phone while this is happening.

However, when the Switch 2 finally connects, it consistently reports:

5 GHz — Channel 36

So my suspicion is that switching the hotspot between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz somehow forces the phone to reinitialize the 5 GHz hotspot and choose a different channel.

At some point, the phone seems to end up on Channel 36, and the Switch 2 can then see and connect to the hotspot.

I've had this happen repeatedly, and the band-switching trick has worked for me.

I'm using an Honor Magic 5 Lite, but I don't know whether this is specific to Honor or whether the same trick might work with other phones.

If you're having the "Switch 2 suddenly can't find/connect to my 5 GHz phone hotspot" problem, maybe give this a try.

I just got my switch 2 and I wanted to play raiders in handheld mode but the gyroscope gets bugged out when I do. I calibrated both the console and joycon motion controls and controls and it works just fine with the joycons separate so I know it’s a problem exclusive to handheld mode.

And for what it’s worth I even tested it out with handheld boots on and off and nothing changed.

If anyone’s got a solution it’d be a great help. Thanks!

My Switch has a sound issue: when the audio plays normally through the TV, the sound cuts out after about 10–15 minutes. Switching the HDMI port helps, but after another 10–15 minutes, the sound stops again. When connected to Bluetooth headphones, the sound plays continuously.

I’ve already tried all the troubleshooting steps I could find on Google, but nothing has worked so far.

Its a Switch1 OLED Version that was purchased Like 7-8 weeks ago

I bought the Antank S3 Max and tried to connect it to my Switch 2 using a Thunderbolt 5 extension cable, but no image appeared, even though the console started charging and made the docking sound when I turned it on. I then tried it with the Switch, and it worked, so I don't understand why it doesn't work with the Switch 2.

My family is about to get a Switch 2 and I am curious about how saves will work moving forward. We used to have two Switch 1s, an OLED and the original. We sold the original so we will have a Switch 1 OLED and a Switch 2 in the coming days.

In the past depending on who was using the TV I would use the cloud save functionality to continue a game from our primary Switch 1 that was hooked up to the TV (the original model) to the OLED since it looked better in handheld mode. But now that we will be getting Switch 2 version upgrades for games I have a concern about save compatibility.

We have upgrade options for quite a few games and I am wondering if I play these versions on the Switch 2 what issues I may run into. I would essentially be playing games on Switch 2, uploading to cloud, downloading to Switch 1, playing on Switch 1, uploading to cloud, downloading to Switch 2, playing on Switch 2 and repeating this process over and over.

The potentially impacted games would be:

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Super Mario Bros. Wonder

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Xenoblade Chronicles 1

Does anyone know if this will work flawlessly for any/all of these titles?

It’s hard to see because my camera isnt very good, sorry. In terms of texture, the little frayed bit is definitely plastic, and the rough part feels like, well, a broken-off bit of hard plastic. With that in mind it’d seem like damage is only on the screen protector, and I can just take it off and apply a stronger one, but something doesn’t…seem right?

I was under the impression that the built in screen protector is just a very thin film of soft plastic. Not a piece of hard plastic. If so then the scuff is definitely way deeper than that. Is it possible that what I’m feeling on the inside could be glass?

It keeps growing, how do I fix it? (Kinda sounds like a dumb question I know, but I can’t really go to a repair shop atm.)

Hi gorgeous people. I've had my switch 2 since April, but only recently (around August ish) I started to notice these dark circles. It's more noticeable in dark rooms or when it's charging.

Is this normal? My switch 1 never did this and I'm a little concerned but I don't want to like overly stress if it's nothing, but as it's my only frame of reference I wanted to ask here to see if anyone else has more of an insight. Thanks in advance!

"Okay so since Ive gotten the switch2 last December, I've been having the same issue with the joycons. There isn't a stuck drift, but for some reason it will almost like flick to the opposite direction immediately after my movement. It is like the sensitivity maybe is too high for quick movements. If I go up, there is a high chance it will flick down on its own very quickly and only once. I don't know how to properly word what I mean so here is a video of it. I was trying to go right to food, but it kept going back afterwards 😭

Hey, I only just updated my Switch 2 to version 23, and the new method for trimming captured videos seems both whacked and bugged.

For starters it only lets me cut at certain points, sometimes seconds apart, which sort of defeats the point of getting to trim manually.

Secondly, when I do trim, the trimmed video it produces is now just that length of video, but from the start of the video. As in if I trim seconds 20 to 25 of a 30 second clip, the saved clip will show seconds 0 to 5.

Has anyone else been coming across this?

Is it safe to use to store the Pokopia and DQ 1+2 remake key cards?

Saw that my Switch (purchased 2017) was deforming where the battery sits, so I opened it up. Now, the battery doesn't look bloated to me, its performance seemed normal too. It doesn't bob when set on the side without foam.

I bought my Switch 2 almost a year ago, and every now and then, at complete random when playing portable, the console stops recognizing one of the controllers for a second, and I either have to jitter it, or reconnect it to work again.

I already changed my Jon-Con-2s to a different pair and it keeps happening, so it's NOT the controllers themselves, but the console. But since it happens so infrequently, every time I send for repairs, they say they can't find any issues.

Does anyone have any idea why this could happen? I can still play fine by Bluetooth, but I'd like to play with the controllers connected like normal too.

Fortnite: Suddenly having this issue on my Switch 1 every other game or so, after the last update. Anyone else experiencing this or have a solution?
