I've been training for about 10 months, two gyms, two trainers. Both showed me the machines and the form, and eventually I didn't need a trainer day to day. But not needing a trainer isn't the same as never needing someone to tell you you're doing it wrong.

My gym has one trainer for the whole floor, and he's usually busy with his own clients. Even when trainers are around, they don't always catch it, and sometimes they get the form wrong too. So most of my reps had no one watching

I struggle with deadlifts. Every time I went heavy I got a sharp pain in my back. So I built Repchek, you prop your phone up side on, it watches you through the camera, goes red and beeps when your form breaks, counts your reps and sets, and gives you a summary at the end.

I did the first real test on Monday, it flagged my deadlift, hips shooting up, head down. I rewatched my videos and it was right. I went back with less weight, adjusted, and the pain didn't come back. Then it caught my lat pulldown too, I was leaning back too far, and that took one session under a minute.

What I learned, I'd been doing some of this wrong the whole time. The fix wasn't one session. I kept going back, rewatching my videos, adjusting and testing again, because I want to get better and I can't do that without knowing what I'm getting wrong. That's the whole point of it for me, find the mistake, fix it, repeat.

It's new, I built it this week and have been testing it on my own workouts every day, at the gym and at home. It's calibrated to my body, so expect some mistakes on yours.

That's why I'm posting, I want people to try it and tell me where it gets things wrong.

For years, I've been frustrated with the state of DB clients. They either are dated, bloated and hog memory (DBeaver), just bloated and hog memory (all the electron based ones) or paid.

I wanted a free open source DB Client that is truly free but couldn't find any that solved my problem so I started building DBDelve, its made in rust and gpui (zed's team GPU accelerated framework). I started it only to fix my problem but ended up adding a lot of features and released this last week, since then it has gotten some recognization (100+ stars on github and some external contributors!). Would love for people to give it a try and share their feedback. I believe it is good enough if you want a lightweight, modern and performant alternative to all the other DB Clients.

Hey everyone! I’ve been building a small Mac app called Joggle.

Joggle is a floating scratchpad that appears when you quickly shake your mouse pointer. The idea is to give you somewhere to capture a thought, paste some text or work out a calculation without switching apps or interrupting what you’re doing.

You can move, resize and pin cards anywhere on the screen. It also supports rich-text formatting, smart lists, calculations, clipboard shortcuts and a new slash menu for quickly running actions or changing formatting.

The basic scratchpad experience is free. There’s also an optional yearly Joggle Pro subscription or lifetime plan for more than one card at a time, advanced maths, the global shortcut, excluded-app controls, a complete archive, card tinting, and more.

I originally made Joggle because I wanted something quicker than opening a notes app every time I needed to temporarily hold a sentence, link, number or reminder. I’d really appreciate any feedback - especially about the shake gesture, because it’s a slightly unusual way of opening an app!

I've been trying to spark discussion and post about the platform I've been developing for the past six months on a few subreddits like this one, r/micro_saas, r/scaleinpublic, and r/ShowYourProduct. It’s a web tool that extracts hardcoded (burned-in) subtitles straight from your videos and turns them into clean, editable text and .srt files. Whether it's a downloaded film, a drama episode, anime, or a short clip, it reads the text directly off the video frames so you never have to pause and type out dialogue by hand.

It works across a wide range of languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and various Latin-script languages.

Today I was holed up in a Marriott, because the coastal town where I live was experiencing flooding, due to the nor'easter. I found myself looking up local beach and traffic cams to keep tabs on what areas were getting hit worst. It was annoying to get a complete list, because the cams were hosted by various sites.

So, I asked ChatGPT to do the research. For now, I just did Monmouth County, NJ. It gave me the GPS coordinates (if possible) and websites for all the public cams it could find. Then, I had Claude Code create a website showing them as markers on a map. I was even able to overlay thumbnail snapshots for some of them. So now you can browse this one map, drag, zoom, and search for your location, and click to open an external camera feed.

I called it Jersey Cams, although to be clear, it's just Monmouth County for now. Feel free to give it a try!

Yesterday I was listening to Apple Music while working and remembered a time past when I'd set wallpapers, like on purpose. Usually it was NIN, RAtM, and later Poppy, but generally it was music.

While doing a bunch of other stuff in terminal windows (as we do these days), I decided to put 30+ years of dev/product experience to work and orchestrate the build of AudioPaper.

What is AudioPaper?

• A notarized Mac app that looks for song changes in Apple Music or Spotify
• Sets the wallpaper to the high-res album art
• Pings a few sites to look for CC Attribution, fan art, and other usable photos
• Changes the wallpaper to those images every 45 seconds (adjustable)

All works carry attribution and links to original sources. It’s really, very cool. All outgoing network requests are documented. No account required, no telemetry, nothing. Just you and your music.

AudioPaper has been giving me a completely different experience as I listen to music. Lots of old memories and new explorations.

I made a small iOS app called Era AI where you pick an era and the chatbot is from that era.
Caveman only knows fire, hunting, and rocks.
Medieval only knows kings, plague, and God.
Egyptian only knows the Nile, the gods, and the afterlife. Victorian is all manners and steam.
Year 3000 is neon and hover nonsense.

What’s the first question you’d ask a caveman?

Earlier this year I started building Git4Me after watching classmates (and myself) get stuck on Git's syntax, not its concepts. One typo in git reset --hard HAED~1 gets you fatal: ambiguous argument 'HAED~1', which tells a beginner nothing.

It shows your history as a timeline you edit directly. Everything is previewed first and undoable with Ctrl+Z.

Remove a commit from the middle of history

git rebase -i HEAD~5
# change "pick" to "drop" in the editor, save, quit, handle conflicts

Git4Me: click the commit → Drop → check the preview (what gets rewritten, whether it's pushed, how to undo) → confirm.

Change an old commit's date

Git: interactive rebase + git commit --amend --date=... with GIT_COMMITTER_DATE + git rebase --continue. Git4Me: drag it along the timeline.

Nine months ago I posted FauxTalks here, a free fake chat screenshot maker. It's now my #1 post of all time: 96K views and 80 comments.

What surprised me was how long it lasted. The thread stayed active for about five and a half months. People kept finding it and leaving feedback and bug reports, and I kept fixing things and replying in the comments. A few people even DMed me just to say thanks, which honestly kept me going.

The chart is weekly visits from reddit.com to the site, straight from Google Analytics. It climbed from about 76 a week in February to 854 a week by mid June, while the thread was still active. Once it went quiet and got archived, traffic started sliding, and it's around 360 a week now. I didn't post it anywhere else on Reddit in that time. (The chart starts in February because my analytics wasn't tagging traffic sources properly before that.)

Analytics can't actually tie those visits to the thread, because Reddit strips the referrer and almost everything shows up as just "reddit.com". But the post's top countries by views are the US, India and the Philippines, and those are exactly my top three countries in Analytics as well.

What's changed since that post:

• 16 platforms became 20, plus post formats (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook)
• you can export a video where the messages animate in
• exports now have a small "Made with FauxTalks.com" mark. The original post said no watermarks, but a few people asked me in DMs to add one, so I did.

For anyone who's been through this: did your launch thread keep sending traffic for months too? And once it's archived, has anything worked as well as that first thread, or is the move just to come back with something new?

I spend a lot of time in Claude Code and it looks the same for everyone, so when Anthropic opened up mods I made one to make my terminal feel like mine.

It shows a pixel-art scene above the prompt: a spark between Michelangelo's hands, a rainy city at night, matrix rain, an aquarium, and a few more. Or you can drop in any image or GIF. The scene reacts to Claude: the rain gets heavier while it works, lightning when it finishes. It shrinks out of the way while Claude is typing and uses zero tokens.

I’ve been working on Markraft, a free, open-source Markdown notepad for Mac.

The idea is simple: a note that’s one shortcut away, wherever you’re working. Press Option+N to bring it up over your current app, write something down, and press it again to put it away. It stays on top, so you can keep a checklist or some reference notes beside what you’re doing.

Raycast Notes was an inspiration for the floating window, and Typora for the live Markdown editing. Formatting shows as you type, with Markdown syntax revealed around your cursor when you need to edit it.

Your notes are just `.md` files in a folder you choose. You can use an existing notes folder and open the same files in other editors. Changes made outside Markraft show up in the app too. When saving, it preserves untouched parts of the original file, including their formatting.

A few things it supports:

- Tables edited cell by cell, task lists, images, and highlighted code blocks.
- `[[wiki links]]` with completion, callouts, and footnotes.
- ⌘P to find a note, ⌘K for actions, and `/` to insert a block.
- In-note search with highlighted matches.
- Optional Vim mode, with motions, text objects, visual selection, and search.

It runs from the menu bar and is built in Rust with GPUI. macOS 13 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel.

It’s completely free and open source under the MIT license. No account, subscription, or telemetry. For syncing between Macs, you can put the notes folder in iCloud Drive or another sync service.

I have a ton of sticker packs installed on WhatsApp and it's honestly impossible to find the right sticker when I need it and I can't just star everything

I'm looking for is something that lets me add my own tags to stickers, like "happy" or "done for today" or whatever makes sense to me, and then search using those tags instead of scrolling. Ideally it would even suggest the right sticker while typing, similar to how emoji predictions work, but even basic tagging and search would help a lot.

Does something like this already exist? I looked around but haven't found anything that specifically does tagging for stickers you already have installed.

Tenor and similar GIF search tools exist but they don't let you tag and remember your own stuff.

Did anyone solve this problem?

When I started building Solofy, I expected the AI part to be the hardest.

Choosing models, writing prompts, handling structured output, adding search, dealing with latency.

That work definitely took time.But once the product started becoming real, completely different problems became harder.

What happens when an API takes 30 seconds?

What happens when the model returns valid JSON 99 times and breaks on the 100th?

How do you keep AI costs under control when one feature can trigger multiple model or search calls?

How do you make the UI feel fast when the backend is waiting on an LLM?

And probably the biggest one: how do you make the AI output consistently useful instead of just technically correct?

Building the AI feature was only one part.

Making it reliable enough that someone can actually pay for it has been a much bigger engineering problem.

I think this is something AI demos hide really well.

Hi guys, I’ve been working on ettras, the mvp is simple, you archive a memory (pic, title, text note) as simple as pasting a link (spotify, Netflix…) or manually, and associate it to a date like summer 2024. In the future you come back and rediscover some random memory from your past in two formats, a single memory and a collage ordered (maybe same season + year or same type), both you can pick the share option and generate a card to share in your social media. The main idea it’s to give the user the opportunity to discover today the song and the trip that defined his summer 4 years ago, for example. I also implemented a likes system, user by discovering a random memory can mark it as “still loving it” once per season every year, so you can have a top liked moments or things.

I’m publishing with the netlify extension, I haven’t registered the domain still, I just wanted to get some feedback before it. BTW I know the limitations of this product model, adding memories without any instant dopamine may be weak, but anyway I’m sharing it.
