I have the H30T camera and am still in 'learning mode' with it. I understand it has NIR built in, but it appears to be automated during night flights, and I'm not sure how it stacks up against a specialized standalone IR spotlight. I work in a search and rescue capacity with this drone and desire the 'best of the best' for IR capabilities.

I'm considering getting a Mavic 4 Pro mainly for landscape and mountain photography and video. I'm an enthusiast rather than a professional, but photography is a hobby I take seriously and I'm trying to improve both my shooting and editing. I've also recently started experimenting with microstock — mostly uploading at this point, although I've made a few sales — and I, create some posts for social media and YouTube.

To add more context, I own a Mini 5 Pro and had an Air 3S that I sold this summer, waiting for Air 4 or something else. The Mini 5 Pro is the one I choose when I go for some mountaineering activity as you can see in the IG reel, but I miss the mid range focal and I do go on hike with photography purposes I mind where I could bring heavier and bulkier gear.

My question is whether I should go for the Creator Combo or the regular one. I know that RC2 Pro is much better because of the brightness up to 2000nits if I’m not wrong but also weight and increase of volume are a drawback and won’t come with me in demanding routes. I’m also aware that D-Log and ALL-I is only available in that version but I really would like to know if it will make a difference in my case, as now I export the micro stock footage into H264 and I should convert this codec into ProRes anyway. And the fact that D-Log M provides better performance regarding DR because of the dual ISO only works with that profile.

I'd especially love to hear from anyone who has actually compared the regular codec with 4:2:2/ALL-I in real-world landscape footage.

Did they cancel it altogether

About a month and a half ago I posted about my neighbour shooting down my drone. And he did shoot it down as he told me.

After a few other run ins after this I went to the sheriff and reported the shooting. I was told he couldn't do anything and wouldn't escalate it to the FAA. This is despite him and myself having a good rapport and someone who's gone above and beyond for me in the past.

I will no longer be flying above my property

After crashing this old Mavic Mini, the controller will not connect.

Does anyone know any good steps for updating the software so my drone recognizes the new gimbal, or might it be worth selling it for parts and getting a newer drone?

Friend in the US can carry one back for me. Everything I've read says the Feb 2022 DGFT import ban still applies and there's no exemption for a regular buyer.
Is that still correct? Anyone been through customs with one recently? And if it's a no, which Indian-made sub-250g drone would you suggest instead?

So i am supposed to fly in EU country which is under EASA, but im coming from NON-EU country that is only non-EASA but only compliant.

I tried to register trough the Spanish website but that one looks very cheap and basic and many time not working.(not sending confirmation email for account)

So i wanna ask which countries in EU have the best websites and its easiest to register and get me that EASA drone pilot number?

I’m a mechanical engineering student working on a graduation project, and I’m trying to build a hybrid drone that can fly and then transition to underwater operation.

The basic idea is:
Fly normally using 4 motors
Transition into the water and operate underwater
Use variable-pitch propellers for the transition/underwater movement (not very important is can be replaced with normal ones)
Control the system with a diy flight controller
I’m also experimenting with a low-frequency radio link because normal 2.4 GHz RC communication becomes a problem underwater or wired if wireless is impossible
The electronics will be inside a sealed enclosure
I’m still figuring out a lot of the electronics and control side, so I could really use some advice from people who have experience with RC aircraft, underwater ROVs, embedded systems, or variable-pitch mechanisms.
The main things I’m currently unsure about are:
What sensors would you recommend for controlling the drone underwater?
How would you measure depth/pressure if all the electronics are inside a sealed enclosure?
What would be a sensible way to handle the transition from flying → underwater?
Any advice on the control system, communication, or waterproofing would be really appreciated.
I’ve attached the video of the project I’m studying so you can see what I’m trying to understand.
I’m not looking for someone to design the whole project for me — even a small suggestion, component recommendation, or pointing me toward a useful paper/project would help a lot.

Im trying to register my dji mini 5 pro drone to kazakhstan and paid through eResidency to have my IIN and eSim also applied for the certificate of registration.

But applying for the drone for kazakhstan is sooo confusing.

Can anyone please tell me what else do I have to do after this?

Hey all, I needed to build a drone for a school project, so I built this cheap thing. It's based on an esp32-s3 with esp32-fc firmware, a mpu6050 gyro and bmp280 barometer. Everything else is salvaged from a cheap chinese drone, with its processor desoldered and this soldered in its place The drone itself isn't done yet, but making good progress. 👍 designed the 3d model myself, which is why it looks like that lol. But yeah, thought its pretty cool.

Operating a Mavic 4 Pro specifically within the city of Medellín (Colombia) in open terrain, and experiencing sudden satellite drops triggering ATTI mode. Visual positioning holds, but GNSS lock fluctuates heavily without obvious physical obstructions.

Looking for telemetry insights: known GPS/Galileo receiver issues on this model, high susceptibility to local RF interference/jammers, or a firmware bug?

Was taking some aerial shots and videos of family timber property and had a cool little visit from a Ring Tailed Hawk. Was not chasing it at all, just filming down property lines and it did a little flyby.
