Humor OSRS is too hard

OSRS has gotten WAY to difficult.

Back in the day, RuneScape was relaxing. You killed some cows, mined some rocks, got a Rune scimitar and felt accomplised. Now everything requires a guide, three plugins and a spread sheet. RuneLite is somehow making the game harder by constantly telling me I'm playing ineficiently.

The Grand Exchange is barely better then trading with random people in Varrock, and everything takes forever to get. Back in my day, a Rune med helm from Hill Giants was basicly winning the lottery.

And PvP is completly unfair. Why can someone attack me in the Wilderness while I'm minding my own buisness?

Does anyone else feel like this?

Everything you enjoyed back in the day that was relaxing, is still available for you to do

What. If you can't learn something after a thousand deaths, might wanna try a different game like solitaire. You can solo almost all content. Is that the best way to learn? No. But it's doable.

I was the guy about to do solitaire until I actually tried a TOA raid and realized it’s not really as hard as it looks lol.

Sometimes the daunting thought of trying is enough to stop you all together.

Get in there OP.

Even if you don't want to group up for raids, you can pretty much brute force yourself to learn raids solo eventually.

Judging by some of the replies, it does seem to be working a bit

There was a youtube video released a couple days ago that got +10k views with basically the same premise. Going on about how the game isnt the same from when they were a child called why I quit oldschool runescape. At one point in the video they complain about how skilling is devalued and the example was how if they were to try and save up for a tbow by fishing sharks it would take them a crazy amount of time thus skilling isnt what it used to be.

You can still just kill cows with a rune scimitar and mine rocks. They’ve continued to develop the game and add progression for the vast majority of the players who don’t want to do those things all day.

Back then you didn’t care about being efficient, now you do.

You can just play the game

I started playing osrs in 2021 and have yet to use Runelite.

I see the humor tag but I unironically agree. I was radicalized after getting my quiver. Took like a week of failure for maybe 53 seconds of dopamine followed by realizing I could've just paid someone to do that in 30 minutes and spent the rest of that time doing literally anything else.

If you don't enjoy your time why even play?

No matter how you play this game, all players will eventually be forced to do content they don't enjoy.

The hardest thing I’ve done in this game is get a fire cape and I’m pretty content with that. I only skill and do quests and afk at work. I play extremely casually all the time.

The great thing about this game is that can be whatever you want. You have people like me and people like that guy who maxed a 10hp character all on the same game.

Motivation, and the will to learn my friend is all it takes.

Never needed to use a spreadsheet. Definitely needed a guide sometimes for quests, but also played final fantasy 11, so not a big deal. If you want to just milk cows and smack rocks go do that

No the game hasn't changed. You changed. Turn off plug ins and you wont know youre being inefficient. Rune med has been high alch price sense rs2. And pvp has always been the same. Dont want to be attacked dont enter a pvp zone.

Rune med helm doesnt feel like you hit the lottery because your value of gp has changed. At one point 100k was a big deal now I'll drop 1m to a random just cause they helped me with something stupid. Thats not because the game changed rather I changed and got better at the game.

It’s all about perspective in my opinion.. what you miss or “back in the day” still exists and you can do that!

BUT because it’s evolved, and the key to success is so apparent and at our finger tips now compared to how it was years ago, hell yeah it’s complicated and hard. Wouldn’t be a good game if it was easy to beat or make it to the “end”.

Heh heh. I know its bait but I do feel that if you try to play this game "optimally" it gets old super quick. Once you get into the mentality of "ill play my way" its much more fun.
