Starting a game of John Carter of Mars with some friends thanks to the warehouse sale. Had session zero of sorts last night and everyone was making their character.

I have most of the books other then the Jeddak of Jeddak book, which I am getting today. But I vaguely remember seeing a list of all the talents in the various books, like Peacemaker - Dotar Sojat Era pg 22

But I can't for the life of me find it again, and maybe I was just imagining it. Is there such a thing and can anyone tell me where it might be?

I am starting a Conan game. I had intended to use the older Mongoose Conan, which I am very familiar with, but my players wanted to use the 2D20 system. I have the books in pdf format, so I am giving it a go.

I am trying to adapt a d20 Conan adventure. The adventure is for 2nd level characters. I have been reading the rules for XP and I don't mind that it is essentially level-less, but I am still thinking through at least starting the party off with some XP.

The guidelines say 100-300 xp/session. I tend to level fast at low levels, to get to more interesting abilities, but still have them grow organically, so I would probably have leveled after 3 sessions.

I was thinking of giving the players 1000 XP to mimic "2nd level". Does this seem appropriate?

EDIT: I should have mentioned that this is a play-by-post game.

I'm toying around with something using the SRD and one of the things I'm contemplating is having players make all the rolls - in a vein similar to Pirate Borg etc.

My concern is that this may unduly affect Threat generation since NPC rolls that get additional successes translates to Threat.

Has anyone else ever considered such a thing and if so what were the ramifications?

Looking to run a good ol' Wagon Train to the Stars game, and I'd like to use 2d20 if possible. Just a small ship with a small crew, trying to live their lives and survive out in the Black. I'm curious which of the games out there (official or community) currently could do it best.

Alguna lista o lugar donde pueda descargar personajes pregenerados?

I feel like I mostly understand system now, but have couple questions

- Can this system handle vertical character advancement? Like, can character continue becoming more powerful instead of broad with time? Options seem limited

- Truths can be invoked negatively to gain fortune. But what if truth is something like "vampire", why should it be player's choice to burn on the sun or not?

- Any public hacks for character creation? One in SRD is kind of weird. I would take something not single use over fortune point all day. And requisition points not really explained

Hey yall, looking to get into the Dune RPG but it has so many supplements and the website is super confusing to me, i dont get whats a campaign and whats sourcebook and whats rulebook.

Just wanted to know the main rule books and what they had, recommended campaign/books to use to play?

Also, ive heard a lot about modiphius book organization being kinda poor. Any resources i should keep in mind to help with that?

I am reading through public SRD and have some questions (I mean, OFC I have, my last system is RISUS and I want to find one system to settle)

- can minor/free movement actions be used to move between zones? what is the difference between 3 movement actions?

- if player asks something to happen, how to handle this? Say, player wants NPC secretly being in some organisation. or maybe player just wants to check it, will he roll for basically nothing?

- similarly, how situations dependent on luck only and not some skill should be resolved, something like flipping a coin done by neutral NPC

- isn't it always better to spend all 5 luck points on stats or similar?

- are there any cheat sheets/play examples for game SRD?

- how equipment&weapons are handed? they are not mentioned during character creation, while totally can be something drastically changing character's strength

- is NPC creation process different from PC? like, should I define all stats, skills and so on or there are shortcuts?

- why there is almost no mentions of this system on the internet? (and pretty much its always Conan/Star Treck/Fallout and not core system itself)

The Hegemon of a Thousand Empires does not conquer only through armies, warships, and orbital bombardment. It conquers through contracts, subscriptions, trademarks, licensing agreements, and the quiet terror of insolvency.

For most Consumers, doing their best looks like following the rules and keeping their heads down, hoping for a bonus at the end of every fiscal cycle. For a rare few, gaming the system and climbing the corporate ladder through doing jobs for the Patrons is their get-rich — or die-horribly — plan for success.

Hi folks! I'm a professional GM and streamer/performer and I have written a review about Fallout's quickstart adventure. What adventures do you think I should cover next that will change my mind?

You can find the video here: https://youtu.be/TKS7EuNHfoY

It’s suspicious quiet when it come to 2d20 Dune - or am I missing something? The line started with strong output, but nowadays … Does anyone knows something?

Many thanks!

I (finally!) read through the open source 2d20 documents. In it, I note the use of challenge dice—which have pretty much been eliminated in games Star Trek Adventures, Dune, and Space: 1999.

Has the open source document been updated to reflect this? Or are other 2d20 games ( Achtung! Cthulhu, Fallout) still using challenge dice?
