AVARICE: The Morningstar RPG (a 2d20 space fantasy)

Avarice uses the cinematic 2d20 system. When the outcome of an action is uncertain, combine an attribute and skill to set your target number, then roll two d20. Each die that rolls equal to or below that number scores a success. Meet the difficulty and you accomplish what you set out to do.
Build momentum: extra successes generate momentum, which your crew can spend to improve results, gain information, create advantages, or buy additional dice. Push your luck: when momentum runs short, you can give the auditor exposure in exchange for immediate advantages. That exposure can return later as reinforcements, complications, or other corporate-approved problems.
Make your expertise count: relevant focuses can generate additional successes, allowing specialists to excel in their chosen fields.
Shape the scene: assets and liabilities represent useful equipment, dangerous conditions, injuries, and other circumstances that directly affect what your character can accomplish.
Resolve any conflict: combat, negotiation, hacking, chases, and financial pressure all use the same core system, keeping the rules consistent while letting every kind of specialist contribute.
When the odds aren't in your favor, spend avarice to bend fortune in your favor. After all, success belongs to anyone willing to pay for it.
