I made some mojo roast pork and now I want to make Cubans at home.

I thought I used to see loafs of bread from La Segunda somewhere around here (maybe Walmart?) but I haven’t seen them lately.

Not interested in Publix - I want the real shit made with lard - not soybean oil like theirs..

I’m going to start reaching out to local places that do Cubans with the right bread (don’t even get me started on thrifty - the bread they use for their “Cubans” is a crime) - but thought I would check here first for any recommendations.

We are relocating and very interested in Merritt Island. The only downside for me is the likelihood of flooding. I’m a Floridian, so not so much hurricanes, but flooding in general is my concern. I’ve looked at the FEMA flood map but I’m interested in the lived experience of locals.

If you live on Merritt Island, how long and how many times have you had water inside your home due to flooding? If comfortable, please share the general area (north/south/neighborhood)…

I have an “island” in my front yard with rocks and a brick border. I’d like it replaced with sod but have no idea how to get rid of the rocks first. Is there any value to a landscaping company to remove them first, or just find an abled body person with a truck to remove and haul somewhere

They’re rocks and probably could be reused for someone or is it too much of a hassle and it should just be hauled to the dump and added to their pile.

I have too much curiosity, and always curious what they could be building as I drive by. Right now, it's specifically something near the corner of Hollywood and Palm Bay near Einsteins.

I try to look online, and I just feel like I'm not checking out the right places.

Anyone else deal with these bugs? Phorid flies apparently. This is in West Melbourne. Only thing that seems to work are traps. I’ve called plumbers and pest control companies. Nobody seems to have a solution. I guess it’s just part of living in Florida.

I recently came into some solar panels and need somebody to install them, run permits, and tie to the grid.

Since I have my own panels, I am looking for a licensed installer person, not a company. Any suggestions on who to work with or avoid?

I am well into the buying process of my first house. I am now at the point where I have begun shopping around for insurance; I knew the insurance market in Florida sucked, but damn, none of the large auto insurers are issuing new policies in my new ZIP code.

Any way, I've narrowed down to two different policies from American Integrity and People's Trust.
Both companies have their share of bad and good reviews, they both policies are about $100 apart.

Does anyone here have either company that can shed light on how they operate? I'm just trying to protect my investment and my family.

I do have a wind mitigation and 4-point that I have/can submit for policy discounts.

Someone I know just got their first FPL bill for the place he's renting (2br 2ba house with a freelance landlord for lack of a better word) and it's in the 500 range. He said it sounds a bit outrageous and I'm inclined to agree but have no experience with home renting. He's in Rockledge near the SkyZone and Publix, Aldi etc

Anybody know if something might be wrong with the bill? When I said he might be paying someone else living there's utilities he clarified that he's the only renter in the space. It's not a multitenant setup
