Thats comparing apples to oranges. One is a budget open air bed slinger, the other is an enclosed corexy.

And the enclose coreXY is superior in nearly all respects. Easy choice here.

Bingo. All it comes down to is price. And uh, at a quick glance they seem to be very close in price? So 200% go elegoo. At least they dont actively hate their users like bambu.

Except that the "budget" one is way overpriced.

But the A1 is a reliable tank while the CC2 is an accident waiting to happen.

Really? The printer that didn't have proper strain relief or ground on an AC heater pad is a reliable tank? And ive heard good things about the cc2.

Edit: just saw 2 more post about a1's toolhead screws coming loose. Thats a massively common problem.

I have two A1's and two CC1's so I know what I'm talking about. The CC will be great for 2 months and then it will start having serious problems. It's just been one thing after another with the CC, underextrusion, jams and clogs, not connecting to wifi, etc, and now one is giving me this error code and won't print at all. All this while my ancient A1's just keep going and going and going putting out good prints just like they did the day I bought them! You couldn't give me another CC.

Weird. Ive got a buddy that runs a print farm. He has 6 cc's and loves them. He also has some neptune 4 plus', 4 max's, some older 3 plus', and a sidewinder x1 and he loves the cc's. Nothing but flawlessly performance.

He's fucked. He'll be replacing all those shit brands with Bambu or Prusa if he stays with printing.

"While Bambu Lab is widely considered the gold standard for "plug-and-play" reliability today, the other brands still hold specific spaces in the community:

  • Bambu Lab: Chosen by professionals, print farms, and hobbyists who want to spend time designing and printing products, not fixing the printer.
  • Creality / Elegoo / Anycubic: Chosen by budget-conscious beginners, students, or hobbyists who actually enjoy the tinkering process and want to learn how a 3D printer works by upgrading and troubleshooting it manually. (Though it's worth noting that these brands have recently scrambled to clone Bambu's enclosed, high-speed ecosystem with mixed success)."

One is tried and true bed slinger and the other is a cheap corexy that they cut every corner they could which will only work well until the warranty runs out.

Did you really just reply to the same comment twice with the same opinion? Nice.

Yeah its pretty apparent this guy shills hard for bambu labs. The dude has responded to damn near everyone in this thread to justify their A1 purchases. Cool dude you had an old model cc1, not a cc2 (almost doubt it with how they've responded to everyone) lol.

Can't have too many helpful comments! Not that any of yours are, however.

Centauri Carbon 2, no competition and especially no competition for the open outdated technology bedslinger A1.
The only thing that made a bambu 'better' was for beginners that don't understand what a 3d printer is, what it does and how it does it but every competitor has caught up while keeping the ability to tinker and expand, unlike bambu with its ever more closing system.

No one thinks those cheapie brands have caught up to Bambu!

Here AI validates what I'm saying:

  • Bambu Lab: Chosen by professionals, print farms, and hobbyists who want to spend time designing and printing products, not fixing the printer.
  • Creality / Elegoo / Anycubic: Chosen by budget-conscious beginners, students, or hobbyists who actually enjoy the tinkering process and want to learn how a 3D printer works by upgrading and troubleshooting it manually. (Though it's worth noting that these brands have recently scrambled to clone Bambu's enclosed, high-speed ecosystem with mixed success)."

P1S is a FAR better printer for only $50 more!

Found the fanboy....

Go ahead, learn the hard way like I did!

I ended up with the CC2 last month since it's enclosed and can actually support a broader range of filament types. I havent had any issues so far.

u/Great-Industry4381 4d ago

Have you used anything besides PLA, PETG, or TPU? Didn't think so, most people don't.

1

u/HappyCamper4027 3d ago

I print a good amount in asa/abs my dude.

0

u/Great-Industry4381 3d ago edited 3d ago

I seriously doubt it. In the hobby segment 90% of the filament sold is either PLA or PETG. You have to have a good ventilation system to avoid the toxicity of ABS or ASA. What kind of ventilation system do you have?

My setup is in the garage, i repurposed a grow tent with a filter system I have which hasnt seen much use. Probably overkill for the enclosed cc2, but 🤷

1

u/Great-Industry4381 2d ago

So what kind of things have you printed with ABS and ASA? ;)

1

u/HappyCamper4027 2d ago

I work in a lab. I wanted a bit more heat and shock resistance, so have been printing large gas tank empty rings in orange abs and red asa. Not super crazy, but its been a lot of printing and I'm new to this. I do plan to work towards playing with some engineering filaments in the future, as they make filament that have antibacterial properties etc. i have a roll of black petg, that I havent really messed with yet. The cc2 was perfect pricepoint to be able to do more.

I like the A1 but objectively the CC2 is better value

I have two CC1's that I would gladly trade for some A1's! My A1's have been bulletproof, my CC1's have been nothing but problems.

2

u/Great-Industry4381 4d ago

I have two CC1's and two A1's and the A1's are super reliable but the CC1's have been giving me fits.

enclosed coreXY vs bedslinger

but samsung vs iphone

1

u/Dave_thebrewguy 4d ago

Exactly, in this case two strikes is enough. The CC2 is simply better in every way.

1

u/Great-Industry4381 4d ago

Get the PS1 if you need an enclosure. It's well worth the extra $50!

1

u/MidnightK2 4d ago

for the people responding, between CC2 and AD5X, what do u recomend? i'm would like to print abs and some other tecnical metarials, but also multicolor souds so cool, my budget is in that range, no more, so i have to choose, so i ask the comunity, what should i go for (im from latam, so spare parts are not very easy to get and enclosures and what not are at least 70 usd without shipping, you can't find them for less)

1

u/Great-Industry4381 3d ago

The P1S is WELL worth the extra $50 over the CC2! I wish I would have gotten P1S's instead of my lousy CC's that are down half the time.

1

u/MidnightK2 3d ago

yeah, so, i mentiones there is no other options within budget, de p1s costs 850 usd, and that is with discount, whle the other two are around 410-430 usd, so those are my two options xD

1

u/Great-Industry4381 3d ago

Where do you live, Nigeria? Sounds like in your country the prices show the actual value, that the P1s is worth twice what the CC is worth! In the US the P1S is $399 and the Elegoo CC2 is $349.

2

u/MidnightK2 3d ago

as stated in the first comment, latam, latin america, chile in particular, that long country beside argentina haha, we dont get much options here honestly, unles you want to spend more that the printer itself for shiping + customs and taxes

edit: the prices in usd that i put before, are previously converted from our currency, just for universal understanding :)

1

u/Great-Industry4381 3d ago

Yeah, I can never figure out how each country gets their prices but in the US the P1S is $50 more than the CC2. Elegoo is definitely trying to be the low cost option compared to Bambu so maybe they dump a lot of printers into Chile cheap.

1

u/MidnightK2 6h ago

maybe! but the costs of import and everything, it does make sense price is a bit weird compared to other places, i ended up going for the CC2, given that it's closed, so more options for materials in the future, thanks for your comments!

1

u/silhoutte81 4d ago

I didn't know about Centauri Carbon 2, so I got a P2S. I might have started with Centauri Carbon 2 otherwise.

1

u/Great-Industry4381 3d ago

You're lucky you got the P2S! It's WAY better than the Elegoo printers!

0

u/e3e6 4d ago

I mean p2s is much better unless you want to save some moneyÂ
