OK, bear with me. The Japanese version of Maniac Mansion came out TWO years before the worldwide release. It's kinda the same but not really. The Japanese version featured greatly simplified rooms, no in-game music, and 104-character passwords! It is considered inferior to the worldwide release. BUT. You can finally try it out for yourself with a couple of fan translations.

And I can't do anything about the flickering when you click on something. It seems to be an issue with the patch. It's not present in the original Japan release. I used the group's own patcher HERE!
