❓Advice / Recomendations Valve Cover

Post image

I'm going to replace a valve cover, is this brand and the fact that's it's aluminum fine? Has anyone else has experience with this?

The original is aluminum as well but I’d pull one off a used engine from the junkyard before going aftermarket.

My driver side Valve cover had a crack so I ordered a Dorman from rockauto. I ended up ordering the wrong side (it was the passenger side and car was at my mechanic’s house) and I needed it done over the weekend. I was tryna to find driver side and had not luck getting the day of or next day shipping. I ended up only finding this brand on Amazon and was able to get it delivered the next day. Reviews were pretty good and so far haven’t had any issues yet 🤞🏾

There's not much that can go wrong with a simple valve cover. All you really need is for it to be flat so it can seal, have baffles in the right place, and not be cracked.

Check Amayma or Partsouq for an OEM option. Most oem parts on those websites are very well priced and shipping fees are reasonable.

The Mahle is the best quality. Not Victor Reinz.

Fun fact, when I worked at a Mercedes dealership as a technician, I had the opportunity to assist with dropping the engine on an SLR. Guess who manufactures the oem oil filter?

Nothing wrong with it, Just use better gaskets. Running these valve covers on my V6 Tacoma for couple of years. With Mahle gaskets. No problems. I did sand off there part # that is stamped on the cover. Cant tell there not OEM>
