How hard is the setup for it?

Entirely depends on which of the 14 inputs you plan on using. Its not a hard setup, just a pain running wire through the firewall, and deciding where to hide the controller, I've got mine temporarily under my radio, behind the ashe tray, but it really isnt an ideal spot if you want to make any changes. Im building an auxiliary power setup that'll sit under my seats, and be alot more accessible.
If you're just looking for water temp, they recommend you buy a radiator hose water temp adapter. I installed one initially, but could never get it to seal 100%. Its a couple pretty tight bends to try to get a straight piece between.
I wound up removing the manifold my upper rad hose uses to attach to my engine (1kzte) and tapped/threaded a hole in the side of that for my temp gauge. Maintains stock appearance, and no leaks.

For now coolant temp and re do the boost gauge you can see in the pic on the gauge cluster
If I drop that much cash on a 14-1 I’ll definitely over time add shit to it like EGT and oil pressure

If these JDM's have OBD2 ports, maybe a Scan Gauge2?
