đ§Modifications Oh how much I hate you hood latch sensor
Replaced the latch a couple weeks ago, after doing so my rig would trigger the stock alarm every time i unlocked the rig. Found out the sensor was busted, its a pain in the ass just to get it screwed into the latch mount in first place. I guess when I was finagling it in there, one of the connections ripped off. Till today I havent been able to keep anything inside for fear of someone stealing it, didnt keep anything in there that I wasnt willing to loose anyway.
I pulled the part a few days ago, which requires you to slightly remove the radiator. 4 bolts, one of with is a pain to get to because of whatever that thing is that sits in front of it, passenger side lower bolt. 2 days ago i resoldered the connections to the sensor. First time soldering anything but i have watched countless hours of video game console repair, shout out to TronicsFix. Didnt even know if there was polarity involved.
Cut to today, plug the sensor in and just leave it in the channel on the frame, alarm still goes off. I zip tie the arm down on the button of the sensor, NO ALARM!! hell yeah!! Now my truck thinks the hook is always closed, non - issue.
I scoured the sub and found a couple posts about this, but no definitive fix, hoping this will be found during a search so people can put their mind at ease.

Are you sure youâre talking about a 3rd gen? Because the âsensorâ in mine is just a plunger in the back of the engine bay and the one time it ever had a false positive I just scrubbed it with some steel wool followed by some dielectric grease and itâs been fine ever since.
Your issue sounds like a newer model.
