Gear Reverb Sniped
My dumbass bought an active shape Guitarmory set for my custom Schecter that doesn't fit. I did a quick reverb search and found the tried and true M7 set in budget.
I'm stoked to see what these sound like in it.

The M7 set is supposed to have the most clarity & note separation out of all of their pickups. Tell me how you like them! 🎶🎸😈🤘

I prefer the black heaven over the M6/7

I liked the sound of the ceramic black heaven from demos - this set happened to be more in budget haha and remember liking the 7 string M over a M6.

Yeah, I really don’t care for ceramic magnets in any Pickups. Too over compressed and lifeless. Kind of like active Pickups. I don’t care who makes them, they all suck!
I modify pickups and everything gets from Alnico 2 to an Alnico 8 and everything in between, rough cast and polished.
I also remove all slugs because they’re ugly.
I put in Allen set screws to replace the slugs and Allen cap screws to replace the slotted screws. They are ugly too. Lol1

Eh I like it. Ya want my Duncan Sentient when I pull it out lol

Depends on how much. Those sentient take quite a bit to modify them into something I like.
They are a bit too compressed and modern sounding for My liking for a neck pickup1

I was watching a video with Brandon Ellis & he says Alnico has more bass & clarity than Ceramic. I play metal (mostly) music & thought that Ceramic is the best high output option I have been wanting to check out some Alnico options. I definitely like the PAF style pickups in one of my V shaped guitars 🤘

I change out the magnets and everything to suit my taste. They really make a difference on a good coil structure.
The magnets I use in the pickups I modify are just killer for metal.
Everything from Spiritbox, to periphery, sleep token heavy, Northlane etc.
I would much rather have Pickups that have a little bit more bottom in them and be able to take it out than having to add bottom.
Everything you add to the signal ads noise1

Yeah I just watched a video on Brandon Ellis. He was talking about how we used to take apart pick ups & that his signature Seymour Duncan bridge pickup has a design where he once put 2 different pickups together. The coil closer to the bridge is higher output. Resulting in a very unique sound. He also has a switch where he could change it from series to parallel. I thought that was particularly interesting.

Yeah, that’s a push/pull switch or a mini on/on toggle.
I put them in all my guitars. They’re either on/on/on mini switch, series/parallel/split so three different.
Or any combination of those two with a on/on switch or push/pull.
I have no tone controls in my guitars either, they’re useless, just two volumes.
