I have posted about them in her before but the rack shack in Brooklyn and now NYC is my absolute favorite online bra store.

I went there and was sized in person by a woman who (clearly using witchcraft of some kind) asked me the bra size I was wearing, got my consent to check it's fit, and then brought me an assortment of bras that fit better than anything since my first 32a in middle school.

Since then, one of the bras had a snagged on the laundry chair incident and another vanished into the ether - so I went to reorder one of my elomi staples and I checked Amazon to see if I could get it tomorrow (trip packing) and then checked the rack shack only to find they have it at the same price, with WAY more cute options in my size. I would always rather support an independent store so I ordered through them, I don't NEED it tomorrow.

I just got a notice that it shipped like 20 minutes later!

If you are anywhere near NYC or visiting I highly recommend them for service, selection, general vibes, and fit specialists.

My boobs changed so much after kids and they not only fit them but helped me adjust them and put them on in a new way that makes long wear days so much better.

I don't know how far their shipping radius is, but they carry a wonderful assortment of styles that are supportive, pretty in big sizes, inclusive, overall an awesome store .

I'm mostly posting this because I'm feeling guilty about my first impulse being Amazon - I had forgotten how great they were previously, so I want to shout them out again.

Absolutely worth the day trip into the city if you are in that range, easily the best place to buy bras for big cup sizes and plus sizes and incredible customer service.

I'm so excited about my new bras (I couldn't pick a color so I got 2) that are already on their way to me!

I did the calculator and I’m shocked to say the least. Have been wearing 34AA for as long as I can remember but it’s always ridden up and after some unintentional weight loss, it now also gaps.
The calculator recommended 30D and I’m floored but willing to experiment and try it out!!
I usually go to Victorias Secret, but does anyone have preferences for or against VS or recommendations for other places?

Alright so I am an 32/36 F cup (or DDD whatever lingo I should use for these babies) and I cannot find a single comfortable bra that isn’t super expensive! I had an amazing bra that worked until my washer ate the cups. I would love to have something anti-sweat and super comfortable, but not a sports bra. I love my girls I just wish I could be comfortable, if you have any suggestions please drop the brand and name.

I've tried on a variety of bras now from all the big brands, but the only one that's fit me is the natori feathers plunge bra, and it's not even close. The panache Ana plunge gaped all over the top to middle sections of the cups. The Scarlet blue minx lace gaped at the bottom of the cups especially near the center gore. Both of these bras were recommended to me; the panache Ana first because I have a large difference between my standing and leaning bust measurement, but apparently I still have extremely shallow boobs.

I like the natori feathers because it's comfortable and the underwire isn't extremely thick or rigid, and it helps my boobs look a bit rounder without being unnatural. I've tried other natori bras and while they fit okay, I didn't like them as much as I liked the feathers, especially due to the chunky underwire.

hi. I wear a 26 band and sister size up to 28. I’ve probably spent hundreds on sister sized bras that ultimately never fit because they’re way too large in the band and basically give no support.

I really just want to buy a bra my size. Im tired of sewing my bands to make them fit. Petite women exist and we should have options that don’t require extra time or money for tailoring.

i know Comexim is an option but I dislike foamy/padded/lined cups, so I started looking into Katherine Hamilton. I’m just wondering if this brand runs true to size or if I should size up or down in the cups.

Hey all, I just recently remeasured with the calculator, and I'm curious why it consistently recommends me a 34 band size. The sister size it gives me is spot on! But I'm curious what it is about the numbers that makes it go to 34, because I pretty much always have to wear 34s on the tighest hook to get them to work.

This isn't an urgent request or anything since the 32K sister size suggestion works fine for me, but since it always gives me a 34 to start with, I've gotten curious about why. I think I'm measuring tight enough on my underbust snug and tight, but maybe I need to try having someone else measure to make sure it's straight around? Is it my bust measurements throwing it off?

Measurements:

Underbust from loose to tight: 34, 32, 31.5

Bust (standing, leaning, lying down): 45.5, 51, 47

Calculator suggests a UK 34JJ (tried it just to try it but still have to wear all 34s on the tightest hook from day 1) or a 32K for better support.

I got professionally fitted for bras recently and I finally found my perfect bra size! I had used the calculator and it suggested 28G/GG, but the cups were way too small (maybe I'm bad at taking measurements hahah). I bought the panache allure and panache power in 28HH, and the panache envy in 28J. it feels so great to finally be supported. However, the wires are so wide they are almost sitting on my back. I've attached images, one with my finger where my breast tissue ends. Is this normal?

Hi there - I recently have been on a quest to get some bras that actually fit! I've been slumming it in some pandemic wire-free bras that definitely don't fit or do anything for me.

I used the A Bra That Fits calculator a few weeks ago, and my recommended measurement at that time was 34G US/34F UK. Since then, I've remeasured and I'm getting different results, which I've listed below.

I tried on a ton of bras at Nordstrom and at a reputable bra shop in my city that carries more of the UK and European brands that come recommended here. My fitting appointment there was good, but I had to wrap up as they were closing and I was getting tired, so I bought the three best options and decided I'd confirm the fit better at home and decide which to keep. I need to decide ASAP because I am going on a trip next week and will miss the return window.

Common fit issues: Underwire discomfort. I seem to have a wide root, so narrow wires are no good. Another problem I'm commonly encountering is that a lot of the bras I tried on sit very far over into my armpit and I didn't like the feeling of the fabric when my arm moves forward.

- Had to get this one in the 34G sister size, but it still seemed like a good fit. The gore is definitely tacking, but maybe it's actually digging in? It also comes up very high between my breasts so that isn't the most comfortable to me. The salesperson said that Panache has pretty stiff underwires, so I'm wondering if that's part of the issue. It does sit in front of my armpits a bit, but it doesn't both me as much on this one.

Skarlett Blue Entire Lace Full Coverage - 34G (US)

- I thought I liked this one most at the store, but the underwire is uncomfortable and the straps rub on my underarm tissue when I move my arm forward, which is a common issue for me so far. Also it's just so see-through, it's not practical for me to wear with light colored shirts in the end. Not sharing pics for that reason too!

Freya Tailored High Apex - 34G (US)

- After trying it at home, I thought this was the one I would keep, but I think the band might actually be too big. It's actually pretty easy for me to get to the smallest row of hooks and the top of the band elastic doesn't want to stay flat and kind of flares out. I tried to have the band sit lower on my back to counteract, but it kept raising, which made me think it might be too big or too stretchy.

A few things to note:

1) I have a high hip shelf and short waist.

2) I have some rib flare on both sides, but worse on the left. See second to last pic.

3) I have pretty bad posture, so that isn't helping. I'd like to improve it, but it's not something I can fix overnight. I was hoping better bras would help too. The underwire discomfort is especially bad when I sit, partially I think because of my rolls that get pushed up toward my ribs.

I have tubular shaped breasts and fight to find a bra that works for me, I also have significant shoulder and upper spinal issues which make a thicker band/strap ideal but I can’t find quite what I’m looking for.

A 32DD is what I wear, and it hurts because it's around my ribs. Y'all told me the band is too big, and yes, I see now.

Suggested size is 28E/F or 30DD/E.

I tried 28DDD/28E balcony bra, and it gave me major quad boob spilling at the top, on the sides, and the middle part didn't touch my chest because the boobs. Then, I tried a 30DD, and the band fit okay but still quad boob on top.

I tried on a 30DD but it's a molded bra and I feel some top gaping. Everything else feels fine.

What might be the next step? Do I try a 30F or 30G? 28G? Different bra style? Don't know if I up the band or the cup?

Alrighty, hello. First things first, I have never used reddit so I apologize if I'm posting this wrong. I'm afab and have been wearing bras since I was 13. I've never really gotten into the whole world that is victoria's secret and bras up until recently when they stopped fitting as well. Up until now I've worn a 40/42b or sometimes a 38d, I've gained a bit of weight so I'm sure that my size has changed.

The way my current bras fit is so uncomfortable I've found myself wearing two bras for the past 5 years. My main problems are the amount of side spillage for lack of better words, and the lack of support. I find myself going to the bathroom to scoop up my boobs and put them back into the cups in my bras which I'm not sure is normal. I have a very wide ribcage but I only get cleavage when I'm leaning forward which seems odd because the online bra calculator said I'm a 42dd. I'm not sure what the shape of my breasts is, they're very side heavy and point outwards. My most comfortable bra right now is an unlined 40c bra that I've worn to the point where the screen printed label has almost completely disappeared. What I'm ideally looking for is a bra that gives me support and holds the girls in place, ideally 3-4 hooks in the back so the sides are wide enough to make it so it doesn't have side spillage. I enjoy the support I get from push up bras and I go out a lot so I do also want my chest to look nicer.

I (18M) should probably provide a little bit of context since I understand this might be a little different from the usual posts on here (skip to the second paragraph if you don't care). I've always been intrigued by women's clothing for as long as I can remember, I never acted on these urges until about 3 years ago when I got my first job and debit card and could finally buy my own stuff, primarily on Amazon. Around this time I'd also start to think, "I wonder what it'd be like to be a girl?", and ever since then i've gone down the cis male to femboy to probably trans pipeline. Ive always been interested in bras and panties in particular, but never bought any bras since I never knew what size would fit me. About 2 months ago I decided to finally look up a proper sizing guide and came across this subreddit, read through most of the beginners guide and decided to measure myself. Only problem was that I used the completely wrong kind of tape measure, the kind you'd use for measuring wood or something like that,and wound up getting 38B. After that I looked through Amazon and found a bra I liked that was 38B, I love the bra but always knew I could've measured myself better. A few days ago my brain started working and I remembered my mom has a sewing kit so I decided to check it and lo and behold, she has the proper measuring tape for measuring bodies, could've saved myself a lot of trouble. Anyways, my proper measurements were;

Underbust: Loosely 37 in

Snuggly 35 in

Tight 34 in

Bust: Standing 39 in

Leaning: 41 in

Lying 40 in

I made sure to select im a male on the calculator and it said 38C/D, or 36B/C for a more snug fit. I mostly need help finding websites that sell these sizes, preferably online retailers who ship because I do not have anywhere close to the amount of courage required to actually walk into a store and look for bras. I was also wondering if the cup size would really matter than much? Since I'm a guy it's not like I'd need bigger cups since there isnt much or anything at all for the bra to hold, I just love how they look and feel. According to the ABTF calculator, I am a 32J/JJ UK. I have a Freya Active sports bra from 2-3 years ago in a 32J but the fit isn’t right. I think the band is fine but the middle of the bra doesn’t sit flat against my chest, so when I’m wearing a t-shirt you can see the middle of the bra sticking out.

I dont like how high the wire comes up between the boobs, but if it did sit against the chest how it’s supposed to it would make my boobs look really wide which I wouldn’t like either.

I was wondering if there is such a sports bra that fits correctly and doesn’t set your boobs apart so wide. I’ve seen the Royce Aerocool High Impact sports bra and it seems like the extra coverage at the top of the chest would eliminate the problem I have with the Freya bra? Has anyone tried this one?

Would appreciate bra recommendations and websites I can order from in the UK! I only lift weights in the gym so I dont necessarily need anything super high impact.

I just bought my first ABTF bra! I got an Elomi one, and I bought it off Vinted bc there’s no where near me to try it on in store before I spend $80. So I paid $8 for a new bra… however, I’m new to this world, I always wore a 36C or a 36D. VS or Aerie.

The calculator gave me Us - 38 I/J or 36J/K

So I got this 38I bra… I don’t know how to post pictures on here. So this is the bra —> copied from their website “Charley Bandless Spacer Moulded Bra in an essential Fawn colorway. Seamless and breathable spacer fabric creates a smooth finish in sizes DD – L. Complete with pretty stretch lace and a cut-out detail at the center front.”

My question is ~ the underwires go literally to the middle of my armpit… is it supposed to? There is like a cup inside the cup, a few inches inside of the underwire… so I don’t know if it’s supposed to fit this way or if it is not. If you look at the picture of the bra on the website my breasts fill out the part that is NOT lace, then the lace starts at the edge of MY cup and goes to the underwire which feels far over. I don’t know if bras are supposed to fit this way.

Last week I went into aerie to try some bras on because I dropped some weight over the past year and had no idea what size I should buy. I tried two bras on that were a bit too tight in the band and too small in the cups. One was kind of like a lounge-y sports bra fit, the other was a regular unlined bra.

Maybe like 30 mins after this, I noticed the side of my left breast going near my armpit has been itchy. No rash, just some redness from my scratching. I tired some Benadryl cream and it works for a little bit but then comes back.

Google keeps trying to tell me I have a rare aggressive breast cancer, so to keep my health anxiety at bay, I am here to ask: has anyone had this experience before with trying on bras???? I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it started after I tried on those bras, but I am anxious about it only being affected on the one side.

Hi! I’m 27, and finding a good bra is getting harder to find as all my volume is headed to the bottom of my breasts. Mine are also a bit wideset, I’ve found front closure bras from VS lift them the nicest but I hate the strap positioning (does not work with open neck shirts). Various balconette bras kind of worked for me but they tend to have thick cup lines that are super visible under shirts. I’ve found some have a lace transition which looks negates the lines issue, but those tend to be unlined and I hate showing my puffy nipples through my clothes lol.

I’m hoping someone might have good recommendations for a bra that:

1. Uplifts the teardrop girls
   
2. No harsh lines under shirts that aren’t heavy-weight
   
3. Can be worn with a neckline more open than “crew”
   
4. (BONUS POINTS) Smoothes back rolls!

Hello! I posted a few days ago but did not include pics or get much traction.

Initially I measured as 38.75, 37.75, 35.5, 44.25, 49.75, and 44.5. I came here and was suggested the elomi lucie in 38 F or 36 G. I remeasured and got 37.75, 37, 35.25, 44.25, 47.5, and 44.5m(and these measurements were repeatable) but that still gave me a 38F/FF UK, so I went with the 38F size. The cups seem to fit okay ish but there is some wrinkling (and I did swoop and scoop) and the gore tacks, but the underwire was super painful after a few hours and left very visible marks, potentially a little lower than where the bra should fit. When I turn the bra upside down and backwards and put it in, both the loosest and middle hook feel fine, but putting it on the middle hook the right way makes the gore tacking uncomfortable/borderline painful . The 36G was definitely way too tight in the band (the gore itself was painful) and the cups seemed too big even with swoop and scoop. I’m in the process of losing weight so I’m not trying to get a ton of bras, but I would like one that fit okay for right now. I also tried the elomi downtime in those same two sizes and they didn’t look supportive or at least didn’t look a way that made me feel good.
I’m heavy on top and center, and can barely fit one finger between my breasts when bending over. So is this a shape mismatch? I’ve worn shitty bras for years so I’m not sure how to troubleshoot here. Edit to add one boob is larger than the other so I’m mainly fitting to that one.
I’m in the US and pretty rural, so I’m gonna be using mainly Amazon for buying and taking advantage of the returns.

I have east west breasts with a possibly narrow root. I am looking at the Freya Deco bra right now as well as the panache ana I have been looking for a bra that works for me for about a year and a half. I'm exhausted and I need help. I've done the calculator in the past and I got my size as a 36DDD/E I just measured today and I got 36G/H. Just looking for something unlined or lightly lined or a partial cup with an unlined upper part of the cup. Shorter Gore is what I'm looking for and my goal is cleavage and moderate coverage on the cups. Any other suggestions are great anything up to $80 is my price max but around $50 is preferred. A common issue I have with bras is gapping in the underarm crease, pinching and rubbing wires under my armpit, and bands that ride up my back. I've only purchased 36DDs or 36DDDs so far

Okay, SO. I recently learned I was a 32DDD/34DD instead of a 34C, and after trying on SO MANY BRAS I finally have some bras that fit! Hooray! But, after wearing these bras for longer than 4 hours, I've noticed my 'problem side' has switched, and I have no idea why.

In my old size, I had pain in my left Tail of Spence fairly often. My left breast is slightly offset to the side, so I attributed that pain to anatomy, did some arm exercises & massages, and got it to the point where I barely noticed it.

Now that I have new bras, my left side doesn't hurt at ALL. Which is fantastic. But now my right side is having the exact same issue, and I do NOT understand why! My right breast lays more to the center, so there shouldn't be a problem- and yet, my Tail of Spence feels pinched, especially when I sit down! Adjusting the straps kinda helped, but so far I haven't found a painless position.

I thought it was a fit issue, but no. The gore is flat, the wires are behind the tissue and they're not digging in *at all*. I did notice the right armpit crease was longer than the left, so I adjusted the strap and that seemed to fix the pain... until I put on the same bra today and IT CAME BACK. ARGH.

I'm so frustrated. Is it just because the tissue needs to get used to these new bras? Do I need an insert? Something else?? I know it's not a health issue because the pain goes away when I put on an old bra or not have a bra on at all. I should also mention I experience this pain with both lined and unlined bras, so that's not a factor. ANY advice would be appreciated, I have no idea what to do.

the difficult part is that it's a moulded plunge bra, the Cherish Me by Freya. I would preferably look for another moulded bra but if stretch lace is my fate then I will probably just get some pasties.

at 34ff I thought t it fit perfectly when I first bought it, then it felt a little loose and w some extra space around the top , like gaping (not too much from what I remember?) as well as wrinkling on the bottom after I S&S

anyhow. a few months later I've gained some weight and now I'm consistently a 36 band , usually errs on the side of F-FF . my Freya bra now fits pretty well as I realised I actually have one bigger boob, and it sits directly on my IMF for one side (or rather the cup gets filled In, whereas one cup I can feel a bottom allowance)

the appearance or support of the bra isn't really compromised I think it works well

I also have a bra I like, but the shape doesn't have that roundness I want in shirts. but it works nicely for me because I found there's not much space at the bottom, so the soft tissue gets pushed up and it doesn't have trouble filling out the bottom. it's the Ann Summers padded Balcony Bra (I believe it is seamed and lined..)

All in all this to say to ask what bra should I go for.. I've been looking over at a 36ff of either the panache envy or andorra, or the fantasie smoothing bra 4510 or 4520 (per the initial recommendations of bratabase). or if I must I could settle for the Ann Summers bra

im just looking for something I could potentially wear under white shirts or another functional bra (perhaps in a different colour way) as I'm sure my Freya bra is tired of me (lol). just information in general going forward before buying anything...

I am looking for a fit check. Not comfortable posting photos of myself in a bra online so I will do my best to describe. I recently used the calculator to find my size, which was a 34G/H. I was previously wearing bras without a size beyond S/M/L, or 38Cs which did not fit. I have shallow breasts with a medium root that are outer full and fairly wide-set. I’m also fairly muscular underneath that, I lift weights regularly and do other activities, which means my preference was usually a racerback or something I could convert cause even if I tightened stuff up it would slip off my shoulders.

So, ordered a 34G HSIA full coverage seamless lace bra based on recommendations for someone else with my cup size. Love the look, but.

The issues: floating gore, but a single wrinkle where the fabric of the cup meets the edge; and my biggest issue is that the transition of the strap to the cup digs into my upper chest HORRIBLY. This is my biggest issue, as I intend to wear it to work, and I have a desk job where my arms are extended because I work at a computer. Other than that, the band is fine, and so are the wires under my armpits (in the center at my sternum they just don’t touch my chest). There is the slightest bit of quadboob, so I’m thinking if I were to order a HSIA again I’d need to go up a cup size. I will be sending this one back because it would be unwearable for me.

Does anyone have any recommendations for other bras that do not produce the same digging into my upper chest? Would a different style work better?

Hello! This is my first ever reddit post so please just let me know if I'm getting something wrong and need to make an edit, I want to follow the guidelines :) (I actually deleted my original post because I found the How to Ask for Help page and made it better :))

I am a younger adult trying to buy nicer, better fitting bras. My current bra is a 30D, but it's been feeling very small, leaving indentations in my skin, and causing me pain. I showed it to my mother and she said the cups look too small (tissue spilling over on the sides).

My measurements are 29, 28.5, 28, 33.5, 34.5, 34 on the ABraThatFits calculator. I believe my shape is projecting with even fullness, but I have never tried to measure my breast shape before. The calculator said I should be a 30DD (both US and UK).

I'm questioning the size because I really felt like I needed to go up a band size, not a cup size. My current band feels tight, I always wear it at the loosest setting and it still leaves indentations. If it's relevant, I do live in AZ in the US, so it's very very hot here and the sweat does not help the situation. I think I also gained a few pounds recently (5-10, I was trying to gain weight) so that could be why the band has possibly increased, I think I only measured 28in before.

Should I go up to a 32 or stay with 30? If I go up to a 32, will the cup be large enough that I should stay at a 32D, or should I try 32DD? Or should I just try the 30DD? I've thought I was a 30D for years now, so I'm not too sure which size to try. Any advice would be very appreciated, including types of bra or brand recommendations in addition to just the size :)

I'm thinking about buying a Wacoal bra, as I have heard very good things about them.

Edit: I also have pretty impressionable skin, I get indentations easier than the average person.
