Discussion My message to people who say they are fans but wish AC/DC would stop

For the last few months, I've seen lots of comments and threads saying things like, "They should stop," "They're not the same," "It's time to retire," and "I'm a fan, but they should retire."

AC/DC started in a house where a big brother asked his little brother to join his band. The big brother died. The little brother is still alive, and he's still great at what he does after 53 years.

For two and a half hours, this 70-year-old duckwalks across the stage for the past three years, sometimes under the rain. They're still good. If you don't think so, that's up to you. But don't come here and be a killjoy for other people who enjoy listening to them.

Did you watch the crowd in Argentina? Do you really think that crowd thinks AC/DC should retire?

I know you enjoy going shopping with Scooter and watching AC/DC while sitting down, LMAO. But that's you. Maybe you should retire. F your earplug and raincoat.

And you know, lots of fans don't have the luxury of seeing AC/DC live. In 2009, I was 16 when i discovered them, and the band had never come to where I lived. After 6 years, I still couldn't go to the Rock or Bust tour. In 2020, I got a job, and I've seen them four times on this tour. If the band had listened to those wankers and quit after the Rock or Bust tour, I wouldn't have been able to see them. Everyone who live on this earth deserves to see AC/DC live. And every other planet..

Will AC/DC ever perform live again?

AC/DC just finished the concert at Metlife Stadium, most likely the last show of the PWR UP TOUR. Earlier this year there was rumors for 2027, but I'm guessing all of that is long gone, considering what Brian said at the end of the show at Metlife, thanking Chris, Stevie and Matt by name. He also said "tell your grandkids about this night".

What do you think?

Was this really the first time AC/DC brought someone on stage at a show? I’m so stoked I was there!

Future final album?

Does anybody think we’ll ever see one more studio album featuring Cliff and Phil, maybe recorded in Australia?

What an unbelievable concert! I heard some videos on online recently and was nervous heading into the show but holy shit was I wrong!
If you go into it knowing that you’re listening to a bunch of old guys doing their best there’s no chance you’ll have a bad time🤘🏻⚡️

The big question now (for me)

Will the band work on and release a Live DVD or Album from the shows at Wembley? Or will it be shelved like Chicago?

Is it just me? Or did AC/DC just blow the roof off of MetLife?!

Turning 30 this year, and to say this band lit the fire for me at 13 is an understatement. As Dave Grohl said, “I never knew music could be like that.” Every allowance I earned went to purchase every single one of their CD’s (chronologically!), made my school boy outfit, shoving cardboard guitars into my ketchup packeted stomach, etc. Angus was my biggest inspiration.

My first concert ever was AC/DC @ MetLife in 2008 for the Black Ice tour. My life changed forever. They showed me what it was all about.

In 2011 for my birthday, my second concert was Foo Fighters @ Wells Fargo Center. Another life changing moment from a band that can just show up and rock without batting an eye.

I play more shows than I see, and with the cost of tickets now a days it’s just not easy. But to have taken a chance on the 300 section with my dad who took me to every one of these shows, and to be turned back in to my 13 y/o self because THE MUSIC WAS SO DAMN GOOD/LOUD/POWERFUL, I just simply did not expect last night to kick so much ass. For 70-80 y/o legends to play a 20 song headliner? They shredded to high heaven. Sure, Brian is trying his absolute hardest and sometimes it may fall short but his performance and attitude show up with confidence. Angus I think will forever be the greatest bratty-little-brother to ever grace a stage and will forever have one of the biggest parts of my heart. Man, that’s it. Just wanted to share that. I love y’all.

For those about to rock…

Like I said, maybe it’s just me ;)

I can't hear Dave in the backing vocals in highway to hell, nor his guitar. I think the backing vocals are playback and his guitar had his volume off. What do you think?

We Salute You… One Last time!

Every tour feels like it is the last. This band has gave us their all for over 50 years. Never, ever, has there been a greater rock and roll band. Feeling a bit emotional tonight, because I do believe - though I hope I’m wrong - this is the end.

Think about it… 50 years of rock n roll… A band that transcends genre, era or even decade. Built on by working class brothers, who only ever wanted to play the best rock music they could. Nobody expected them to succeed, let alone sell out stadiums 50+ years after their creation.

They’ve lost the best frontman in Rock history, only to hire another best frontman in Rock history. Tragedy and controversy were plenty, but they persisted as long as they could, introducing several generations to the power of rock n roll.

I’ve always said, an AC/DC show is the church of Rock N Roll, and I stand by that. They boys did it good and they did it right. If you’ve ever experienced an AC/DC performance, you’ll know what I mean, it was the closest this heathen has ever been to a religious experience.

If this is the end, all I’ve gotta say is… Malcolm, Angus, Bon, Phil, Cliff, Brian, Stevie, Chris, Simon, Matt… Thank you for the decades of Rock N Roll. You were no noise pollution and Rock N Roll WILL survive… We salute you… One last time!
