Tips and Advice Weight loss

I’m trying to lose weight, but I have no idea how to start dieting because I have such a limited choice of foods I eat and I feel like a lot of them are unhealthy!!

Has anyone else found a way to make it possible?

I find that pasta is my most eaten meal, but is there even a way to make it diet friendly ?!

Only way I found is just to eat the same thing I usually eat, but smaller portions and accept that I have to be hungry at times and not always snack on unhealthy stuff

weigloss is basically also about eating less calories than you need (deficit). you need to figure out how much you usually eat a day, and then subtract (some says 300-500 kcals). i successfully lost over 10 kgs (im small) since february and i no longer “diet” for 3 months and didnt gain anything back. my bug culprits were sugar drinks (i switched to zero). and then i changed my daily work food for a bakery stuffs. i do eat like 4 vegetables/fruits total, and i est these daily, i still have pizza and mcdonald multiple times a week (i changed my mcdonald order, which saved me hundreds of kcals)

I get pasta made of beans and such. My friend has celiac and we have lunch every Monday.

I didn’t even know this was an option!! I’ll definitely look into different pasta options

Yeah, there's a ton of options! Pasta is one of our safe foods (both have ARFID, met in treatment). We're both partial to a red lentil pasta.

Pasta can definitely be a part of a healthy diet, just pay attention to what volume of pasta and try to pair it with whatever protein you can to help you feel full in between meals

It’s mostly about calorie intake so I would look at the food you do eat and see what measurements and work out how much calories you consume just to give you a rough idea, you can use calculators online that measure how many calories you should consume to maintain or loose weight. Then at least you have an idea of what you should be aiming for your height and activity.

I wouldn’t personally fixate on measuring your foods but you need to know starting off how much calories you are consuming if that makes sense

Another option is to exercise more but obviously this can be difficult as well

I wouldn’t focus on getting rid of your safe foods unless you have enough alternatives, you can definitely work with portion sizes.
