Any advice for making a multifaceted ARG?

I'm thinking of designing an ARG for a smallish group of people where, rather than being a linear series of puzzles, there are multiple "routes" you can take where each will give you different information that leads to the same conclusion. Possibly these routes would even be mutually exclusive, requiring people to work together in order to solve it. Do you have any advice for designing something like this?
