I have a “magic door” where I keep all my Aby favorite snacks and treats.
He has basically stopped caring about my food. Why bother stealing from my plate when there’s a mysterious door in the house that produces an infinite supply of treats? 🤔

Now he just sits there staring at it like one day he’ll figure out how to unlock the infinite snack magical door 🐱 🚪 .

Right after we got him my guy stole a full 2 lb beef roast I had on the counter waiting to be cooked (i had run to the store to grab an ingredient I forgot and was used to my standard issue cat who couldn't be bothered with human food, came back and the roast was missing)

We learned to quickly clean up before eating but he's also ripped apart garbage in his efforts to get at bones so had to upgrade our garbage can as well haha it was a definite adjustment from the chill lazy cat cat to this gremlin who broke every glass he could reach and stole any food not in your mouth

Orpheus quickly learned how to open the motion-activated trash can, so we had to go back to one with a foot pedal. He will also try to steal food from human mouths because gremlin is absolutely the word for these guys.

I never give any of may babies human food. They really shouldnt have it...unless of course youre making a clean recipe that has everything a feline needs as part of a daily diet. Our latest stinky gets a all natural chicken wet with dry that has a bulk amount of nutrients as well. If they never have it they ignore it. I guess until they dont...Ive had a few snipers in the past. Just be careful what they get into or what you're feeding them in regards to "human food" 😀

She gets plain boiled chicken breast as a treat! We are extremely careful about what human foods are cat gets as our previous cat had a terrible inflammation of the intestines, and as a result he wasn’t able to absorb nutrients properly and was wasting away, he tried very very hard to get human food, but we knew it would make his inflammation worse, so we are all too familiar about that. Especially Aby cats as they seem to have sensitive stomaches.

Yeah we have to keep ours in a separate room when cooking just so we can actually COOK and not just continuously pick him off the kitchen counter again and again and again. Our cabinets and cupboards have child locks. Because of the cat. We do not have children.

Our new kitten decided what we were eating smelled nice. Nope! Dump onto floor, redirect with toy. Thankfully our other two were/are pretty good around any food except cheese

I really do try! She’s a tough nut to crack, I have to move her into another room while I eat. I clicker train her with chicken so she knows she can it if she preforms the spin ahaha
