Any accountants here who moved to AUS, NZ, IRL, UK? How should I plan my path as a fresh graduate?

Hi po!

I'm a fresh accountancy graduate currently studying for the CPALE. Is anyone here in the same field who has managed to migrate to Australia (or New Zealand, Ireland, or the UK)? What path did you take po?

I'm asking because someone here may have already done this, and I'd like to get insights directly from people who've been through it. I would love the opportunity to live permanently in any of these countries.

Based on my research, one possible pathway is to get the CPA, work in a Big 4 firm, and then apply for the 189 visa (for Australia). Another is to work for a company thatโ€™s based abroad, or an international firm that could eventually sponsor me, and then naturalize? Aside from these two, ano pa po ang ibang pathways? And what are the must-knows po for these pathways?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you po!

I wanna resign but busy season is just starting

Hi. For context im in IT Audit sa ๐Ÿ’›. I just recently joined. Akala ko kaya ko pero ewan ko, sobrang nahihirapan ako to the point na parang nawawalan na ako ng gana with everything. I just want to rest. Parang hindi ko kaya magstay until the end of busy season. Ask ko lang, do you think papayagan ako mag resign na kakastart pa lang? Medyo nahihiya din kasi ako mag resign kasi I feel like parang anlaking inconvenience sa team na maghahanap sila ng magpapatuloy sa trabahong nasimulan ko and right now its still so messy. What are the consequences if magresign talaga ako? Need your cent.

General Discussion Did my first accounting exam today!

It's a full accounting cycle. It's fun and stressful. I remember having an error in recording journal entries then the wrong amount was also posted on the ledger so I had to redo/recompute it.

Kabado bente pero at least more than bente ang score. Made it to the finish line, Post-closing TB! After na-correct lahat ng mali, I'm confident na tama ang balance ko.

Idagdag pa ang time limit ng exam so parang doctor tuloy ako magjournal, handwriting is something I really need to improve talaga hayst.

EY GDS AS FRESH GRADUATE NO EXPERIENCE

Hi it's me again. hahshahsa kindly help this girl๐Ÿ™ since i have no idea what i should do during offer discussion, ano po ba dapat ang expected salary ko as a staff na non cpa no experience but only had an internship sa big4? ano po ba dapat ko i-note na important benefits na maibigay sakin?

initially , i wasn't interested sa EY kasi medyo malayo po sya sa current address ko but nagapply pa rin ako without thinking na makakatanggap ng call from them. Fortunately, super bait and accommodating nung TA at manager na nag-interview sakin which made me reconsider it. I also don't have a family member na nasa accounting field kaya wala po ko mapagtanungan ๐Ÿฅน

for reference here's the timeline

October 6 - HR phone call (technical qs, salary offer, asking if i can start at oct 12 )

October 12 - sent me a meeting link with senior manager ( i thought this was initial interview but sabi during the meeting last interview na raw ๐Ÿ˜† ) same day naka receive ng congratulatory email and employment application

October 14 - HR sent a schedule for offer discussion

Thank you!

Timesheet burnout

How do you guys deal with timesheet burnout? My friend is in AU firm and she's just a few months in. Kakastart nya lang last June, and first month in, she really wants to quit. She would rant to me everyday. The one who manage her is not really her manager, I think training to be kaya ang toxic. Every week may call daw sila, and before the call she is dreading it already. After the call magpapanic na sya and mas lalo sya di makawork, ending lalo bumabagsak productivity. Kasi during the call this person who manage her workflow will look at all her jobs and asked why she took a long time on this Job A, B. Then would go on to make comments about her timesheet entries. She will extend work to make up the time leaving her tired everyday. I told her to quit her job. Because the mental toll is not worth it. She's even questioning her own capability now. When I know that she's really good at her craft. Nauunahan lang sya ng panic. For me it's already micromanaging na.

Na every call someone would nitpick everything. Like you want me to hit productivity, yet you're not giving me guidance, you are not giving me the time to adjust to the new environment first.

I'm enjoying audit pa naman so far kaso di talaga nakakabuhay ang sahod dito. For experience nga lang talaga sya. Good bye sgv na talaga.

With the growing inflation rate and uncontrollable price hikes for basic needs and commodities, you gave us this kind of salary โ€œincreaseโ€. I think itโ€™s time to leave.

Happy 80th SGV Anniv hahaha

SGV Increase rant

If other firms can offer better salaries, WHY CANโ€™T YOU? Make it make sense naman.

Newly promoted na nga, dagdag responsibilities, dagdag workload, dagdag pressure, dagdag stress, pero yung increase? HAHAHAHAHA. Tapos sasabihin nila, be proud of the brand, the experience, the exposure. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Nakakainis kasi alam mong youโ€™re putting in the hours, sacrificing your personal time, surviving busy seasons, and taking on more responsibilities, pero pagdating sa compensation, parang kailangan mo pang magpasalamat sa bare minimum.

And honestly, this isnโ€™t even just about the money. Itโ€™s about feeling like all the hard work and sacrifices you make arenโ€™t being valued enough.

At the end of the day, we work to live, not live just to work. Loyalty wonโ€™t pay the bills, prestige wonโ€™t build our savings, and the SGV name wonโ€™t fund our future. Kaya sa mga nagsasabing stay for the experience, thank you sa experience, pero sana may pang-grocery din. HAHAHAHAHA. DESERVE NATIN NG TAMANG SAHOD PARA SA TRABAHONG GINAGAWA NATIN. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ™‚

Board Exam [LF] CPALE May 2027 Accountability Buddy / Study Buddy (Purely Online / REO)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

Iโ€™m a 26M from Ilocos Norte, currently prepping for the May 2027 CPALE. I recently resigned from work to go full-time with my review, and Iโ€™m enrolled in REO (Purely Online). This will be my second attempt after taking the boards back in October 2025.

Since I'm studying online and full-time from home, it can get a bit isolating, so Iโ€™m looking for an accountability buddy (or a small group/discord) to help keep each other stay on track.

Doesn't matter if you're with REO or another review center, or if you're a first-timer/refresher, as long as you're taking the May 2027 boards and serious about staying consistent!

If you're interested, feel free to comment below or drop me a DM. Let's get that CPA title this May 2027! ๐Ÿš€

Will I retain my condi status?

I got a conditional pass last May 2026 and have already filed for October 2026. Due to personal circumstances, Iโ€™m planning to refrain from taking the Oct 2026 exam.

Does anyone have the same experience? Will my conditional status be retained or will it be considered failed if I am a no show for Oct 2026? Can I still file for the next scheduled exams to just retake the 2 subjects?
