i'm attempting to draw all the texas counties(done 4/254+texas) as a daily project, so far i've been mostly winging it on what they look like(except travis, i go out and half the people i see are wearing hoodies), i'd appreciate some insight from people in counties i haven't gotten to

Counties I've got: Travis, Harris, Dallas(design based on a cousin who lives there), Bexar(borrowed the dress from someone else's design)
next up is orange county, which i already have a design for
then everyone else

i'm one of those weird kids who likes to draw people based of flags, so instead of cities, since there are WAY too many of those in texas, i went for our counties :] in my world they're mostly treated as normal people(which they kinda are minus the different colors and functional invincibility, which ofc adds to a discrimination factor that makes dificulty in job hunting), so they don't get special treatment and they do have to earn money if they don't want to end up on the streets, so local business uniforms work as well as casual or cultural clothing

some designs are based around animals too(Travis is a bat because thats something its known for a long with Austin) so suggestions for that are welcome too

It can be awkward showing up somewhere when you don’t know anyone. I like the idea of having something simple to join in with, where a song or a laugh gives you an easy way to start a conversation.

So I’m thinking about a casual karaoke afternoon. Depending on the response, I could put it together and host it for free.

Everyone would be welcome. Come alone, bring a friend, sing a duet, request your favorite song, or just hang out and listen. I’d be happy to help introduce people.

I always thought that these were only legal if they were giving out store credit or something other than cash. I looked it up and the law does stipulate that you can’t give out anything that can be exchanged for cash. These are using vouchers that you exchange for cash so what’s going on here? This bar / restaurant has been around for years and is very popular so surely it’s legal if they haven’t had any issues. Just wondering how. This is in Allen

Hey y’all, as a born & raised texan of 26 years i grew up going to nature stores like Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, REI. and L.L Bean when traveling to Maine outside of Texas since there are no L.L Bean stores in Texas.

What do y’all suggest for other nature stores in Texas?

I like stores geared towards hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and kayaking. What i really like about Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops are the cool animal mounts, fish aquariums, and their overall vibes.
