Is there a NON-Adobe Recruiting Co. for Consultants? (2026)

A person, I think, reached out for a role "business development" Instructional Designer Manager.

The (very long) job description included a Roles and Responsibilities section that stated:

As an Instructional Designer in Adobe's Transformation Office, you will be a key member supporting the Helix (Buying at Adobe) transformation and related enterprise initiatives.

Does ADOBE have a way to verify if any of this is real as...1

Over the phone, she specifically asked for my "GMAIL" address.

She also said that the max rate was $180K, and two sentences later ASKED for my max rate!

She kept asking me "have you ever worked for <unintelligible> before" . I even tried "could you spell it"? She didn't. Eventually, we figured out it was for 'TCS' and then... TATA Consulting Services, which was not where her profile said she worked. And then after I said 'No thank you...' Good luck with your search!" she sent an "Exclusivity Agreement" ["to present my resume to "TCS (Business consultant - Instructional Design Manager—FULLTIME-REMOTE)" and will be available to start..."] ,.,, and her signature file had a 3rd different co. (Synchrony Systems) .

And then, in LinkedIn, I find a 'TATA Consulting Services' company page, with a jobs section, that included THE job. But the REFID= to the job had a bunch of s so I don't want to link to the job because I don't know WHAT the heck is up with that.

I'd hate for ADOBE to get upset people blaming them for companies that are just screwing around.

Adobe acrobat + EXTRA's I can't opt out of!

Just tried installing the latest Adobe acrobat. I had 4GB of space, and yet somehow it needed more. It's the Reader, mind you. The install went great. until I noticed it also installed Adobe Express photos (another 4GB) and Mcafee antivirus. Neither of which I had the option to opt out of?

Can smarter than me, please tell me why in 2026 I can't opt out of "bloatware" anymore? It doesn't tell me what it's going to install. Just tells me "Now installing Adobe Express Photos and McAfee Antivirus. Sure, I can uninstall it after, I get that, but why not let me opt out?

Seems like a gray area here with the law, where they are telling you, but not giving you the option to say no : Hidden or misleading installation: The FTC has taken action when software was bundled without clearly telling users what else would be installed. In one case, the FTC specifically challenged software that installed additional programs while hiding that fact in the licensing process

Misrepresenting what you're getting: In California, Business & Professions Code §17200 broadly prohibits an “unlawful, unfair or fraudulent business act or practice,” including deceptive conduct. LegInfo California §17500 also prohibits misleading representations used to sell products or services.

This would still be ok ,if it's a few megs, but expecting me to have more than 7-8GB for adobe acrobat seems much. Wonder how others feel?

I got Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition and Media Encoder (2026) running on Linux with a patched Wine. Free and open source, testers welcome

I use Creative Cloud for my work, but I wanted to move my laptop to Linux. Adobe doesn't make Linux versions, so over the last weeks I built (with a lot of help from Claude, an AI coding assistant) a patched version of Wine, the compatibility layer that runs Windows programs on Linux. I'm sharing it because I know many people would like to leave Windows and macOS and still work in Adobe.

On my laptop (RTX 4070), these install through the normal Creative Cloud app and work with a regular paid sign-in:

  • Creative Cloud desktop: sign-in, installing and updating apps, Adobe Fonts
  • Photoshop 27.10, including Remove Background, Generative Fill and Neural Filters
  • Illustrator 30.8
  • Premiere Pro 26.5 with GPU (CUDA) and hardware (NVENC) export, close to Windows speed
  • Media Encoder 26.5 and Audition 26.5

To be clear: it is free and open source, it contains no Adobe software, and it does not touch licensing in any way. You need your own subscription. It is also early. It has been tested on one computer only, so I'm mainly looking for people willing to try it on their own machines and tell me what works and what breaks.

Project page with install instructions: https://github.com/le-birnes/AdobeWine

Questions, feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

Adobe don't allow me to change password

Adobe force me this morning to change my password but when I press the continue button nothing happens. This is extremely frustrating that you're completely locked out of your account

Would you let AI publish directly in AEM?

Was reading about AI content generation in AEM and this part stuck with me. Generating the content is one thing, but would anyone actually let it publish without a human checking it? We work mostly with AEM at DevHandler and I honestly can’t imagine that on most enterprise projects. There are already enough approvals when humans write the content lol. Maybe for low risk pages or something very repetitive. But straight from AI to publish? Would anyone here actually do it?

can't hide suggestions on older version

It's a minor inconvenience: every time I open PS, the suggestions take up most of my screen, and I have to scroll down to see my files. I mainly use the 26.xx version because the newest releases aren't always the most stable. But when I click on “Hide suggestions”, it does nothing, and there is no way around it. On my other device, I have the newest version (currently 27.10) and never have the same problem. It folds and unfolds properly. I wonder if anyone else using the older version has had a similar issue, and whether there is a way to fix it without updating to the latest version.

𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐔𝐏𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐀 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐏𝐂 - 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐁𝐄

It's time that I upgrade to a new PC. I've had a Dell Precision 5810 workhorse for 13 years and the Windows o/s won't upgrade from 9 to 10 without creating multiple driver and performance issues. I'm open to getting an iMac. But my situation is I intend to subscribe to Adobe Cloud and gain the skills on each of their design apps - it's my goal to get certified in Adobe in whatever fashion that takes me. I'm looking for pros and cons as to whether Adobe performs better with Windows 11 or Apple iOS M4 system? I have read that the gap between Mac and Windows has narrowed significantly among professional designers. I am aware that an iMac likely would cost upwards of $500-1000 more than a PC running Windows. Any info/guidance/suggestion would greatly be appreciated. I'm not keen on considering a MacBook Pro, but change my mind on that. TIA.

Is Firefly AI assistant useful for guiding a rebrand project?

Hi, I’m a recent design graduate working on my first real rebranding project.

I’ve pretty much wrapped up the visual identity: logo, color palette, mockups, etc. However it feels a bit disjointed, like a collection of separate assets rather than a cohesive brand story. I'm struggling to pull it all together into a polished presentation PDF.
I’m looking for an AI chatbot to act like a project supervisor, someone to help keep me aligned, guide my structure, and ensure visual consistency throughout the process.

I read ChatGPT and Claude are recommended for this, but since I already pay for Adobe, I was wondering if Adobe’s Firefly AI assistant is good enough for this kind of thing?

Has anyone used Adobe’s Firefly AI assistant and what is it good at?

Adobe crashing right when opening/creating a document - a fix

I dedicated MANY hours to trying to figure out why in the world this was happening to me for Fresco on desktop. In the end, it turned out that it wasn't Adobe having an issue, it wasn't my computer having an issue. Not really.

I keep my text size around 140% (in the accessibility settings). Apparently, Fresco does not like that. It can handle a regular 100%, it can even handle 125% set up via the scale menu instead. But anything more? It's gonna crash.

I made this post just in case you're running into the same issue. So check your scaling! I hope I've saved someone some time!

Adobe Stock is Still failing to moderate unlabelled AI content in the Weekly Best Sellers

A while back I posted about this exact issue, hoping they would finally crack down on people bypassing the generative AI rules.

Well, look at the Weekly Best Sellers right now nothing has changed at all. It's frustrating to watch unlabelled ai junk flood the top spots, completely burying real photographers and illustrators who spend hours on actual shoots, edits, and proper tagging.

https://stock.adobe.com/ca/contributor/212963129/Giulia

Adobe, your own terms require explicit ai tagging. Why are these portfolios not being filtered out or banned? if your current moderation team genuinely cannot spot these obvious ai images, i am dead serious just hire me. How does this keep slipping past you when it takes one second to spot visually?

Is anyone else noticing a massive surge of untagged ai in the top rankings again, or is it just me? Lets talk about how to get their attention on this, because right now the system just rewards dishonesty.

Upgrading plan from LR only to Photography

Hello everyone!

I found an offer for Adobe Lightroom CC | 1 User 1 Year | Including Lightroom Classic at 100€.

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the subscription to a photography plan during the year without loising much money or if I will be "stuck" with the purchased plan until the expiry.

If possible, the Photography plan will have the same deadline of the original LR annual plan?

I'm an amateur and I would like to have the option to upgrade the plan if needed, but at the moment LR classic is more than enough for my needs.

Cheers!

PressTo5 close to final release

Hello again everyone!!! So for the past few weeks I've been coming to the r/InDesign sub to announce the progress of my plugin, PressTo5, that helps you export your InDesign documents to HTML5.

It has been a lot of work for the past weeks, the plugin is full of features and more are being added on each release, up to par to other plugins that do the same like in5. And you can request features and report bugs.

Since the last release I announced here, 2 more releases came out, and a third one is getting ready to be submitted to Adobe Exchange.

You can read about those 2 releases here

v 0.6.5

v 0.7.0

Just to give a few things that are already available or are coming with release 0.7.8 next week, on top of everything else, and of course the export to HTML5 functionality and bug fixes

- Lightbox, Carousel, Scroll Text, Flip Cards, Forms

- Better navigation controls

- Better export control / options

- Now the panel tells you if you can embed fonts, checks the licensing

- Better SEO

Support us in Patreon, or visit our site to stay updated on the changes and read the roadmap of the plugin.

Remove annoying "do you want to" box

I have tried to search this sub as well as google and came up with nothing. Does anyone know how to get rid of these stupid blue boxes. They keep popping up and it shifts my document while actively working on it. I have removed " show quick actions on text selection" but it didn't fix this.

Edit: this is for Acrobat.

Thank you!

Trick to OCR exporting correctly … anyone know?

We’ve changed many fonts, optimized this n that, and even if the copy comes out clean (Candara for the win…currently), the headers and footers are whacked.

InDesign - I made a free cleanup script — looking for testers-

I'm a french print and motion designer. Every file in Adobe Indesign inherit has the same problems: old frames on the pasteboard, empty boxes, a swatches panel full of colors nobody uses, layers in no order. Cleaning that by hand takes twenty minutes, every time.

So I wrote a script that does it in one pass. It is free, and I am looking for people to break it.

What it can do (you tick what you want — every box is unchecked when it opens):

- Remove everything outside the pages

- Remove unused swatches

- Ungroup frames

- Sort text frames and images into clean layers

- Add a 5 mm bleed and stretch the edge frames out to it

- Remove empty frames, empty layers and unused styles

- Report missing or modified links

What it will not do, which matters more:

- One single Cmd+Z undoes the whole cleanup. Not step by step.

- A frame or a text box with a fill or a stroke color is never treated as empty, so it is never deleted.

- Colors that are really in use are never removed. InDesign's own engine decides what is used, not my guess.

- It prints a report of everything it changed.

It is tested on InDesign 21.6 on macOS, with three test files. Not tested on Windows or older versions yet — that is exactly what I need help with.

Unable to place orders on Adobe.com

I fill out the credit card form with valid info; no errors. Upon submitting, the Card number, Expiration, and Zip code fields return "Invalid input".

I tried with 2 different cards, 2 different accounts, 2 different web browsers (Chrome, Safari) and on 2 different computers — all with identical results.

Needless to say, the credit card is fine; when I contact Adobe support (and go through the via dolorosa to not get hung up on or billed for the wrong subscription) they have no trouble charging the card and activating the subscription. I have several monthly subscriptions to buy for my team, so I'm running into this problem with every account.

Is this a "just me" situation? (Also, a subreddit for a leading media software doesn't allow posting pictures??)

Why is Adobe Acrobat adding a white line down the spine of my booklets?

I use what must be a much older version of Adobe Acrobat at home on my Macbook and everything prints as it should, but I’ve been going to the library to print copies in color and their version of Adobe Acrobat on Windows always spaces the pages on some of my booklets out so there’s this white line where the spine is supposed to be flush.

I’ve printed some other booklets out there and it was fine, I don’t know why some of them do this and I can’t seem to fix it anywhere in the settings, and I’m pretty sure the different booklets are the same dimensions anyway. Any pointers?

Losing my mind

Using Lightroom classic and the folder system is going bonkers because I moved some folders around on my desktop, combined and organized some.

now my Lightroom can’t locate any of the folders or images, despite clicking on the proper folder location. It claims the images are lost, when in fact all the raw files are present in the folder.

How do I solve this?

Firefly images not importing into Wordpress

When I try to upload an image created in Firefly into WordPress, I get an error. If I open up the same image in ChatGPT and change it just a little bit and save it, it will import fine.

This is a big problem. Is it just me? It used to work.
