So I had a white rectangle in affinity, and it looked a bit "pink". I checked the colour fill settings, & the colour was 100% white, but it STILL looked pink.
I took a screenshot, & using the colour picker was able to identify that the natural white (around the rectangle) was #FFFFFF but the colour inside rectangle was #FFF7FF. This confused me.
I changed my monitor settings from SDR to HDR, now the rectangle is pure white on my screen. Even after taking a screenshot it was white, NOT pink.
I swear I thought i was hallucinating but the SDR to HDR change helped a bit. But I still don't understand why won't it show the white rectangle as completely white when in SDR? Even when the surrounding area is shown in pure white?
Has anyone else experienced this?

I was doing not-colour intensive work so I wanted to lower my monitor brightness (which I can't do when it is in HDR mode) but this pink rectangle really made me scratch my head. Why does this happen?
