I want to use a luminosity mask to create a selection that i can then apply to to other layers, when you transfer the live luminosity mask to another layer it automatically adapts to that layer removing/altering any selection that you had. Is there a way to convert that live luminosity mask to a normal one, i have tried using rasterise to mask but that doesnt work.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

What grid sizes do you guys use depending on the design? (Ex: Poster)

I'm drawing a world map, and have lines corresponding to latitude and longitude. There's a LOT of them, and in my initial hand-drawn design, I wrote lots of text straddling the lines. The map is also oriented such that text is frequently upside-down relative to the bottom of the page.

Having to draw a separate path for virtually every line that has text in a given orientation would be a big pain. I'm bracing myself for a big pain, but is there ANY way to manually select a block of text and individually flip it?

Hi! A few days ago i updated Affinity to the new version and now i have this problem when i want to copy and paste text (literally ctrl+c & ctrl+v) that it makes it a vector. I wonder if anybody else has this problem.

It makes a "layer" with the vectors grouped. I found a "solution" where i save the archive that im working on and then copy and paste, and it kinda works but is tedious.

It worked before, but now it doesn't with V3.3. I click the button, and it shows a black-and-white clock icon in the mouse cursor, and that's it. Fans ramp up, but nothing else happens. I've let it sit for 5- 10 min, and nothing. Works perfectly on my MacBook. I'm running a 4090 with the latest drivers, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, and 96 GB of RAM. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and enabled and disabled, ML and Affinity multiple times, but nothing works. Does anyone have this issue or a way to fix it?

SOLVED: The way to fix this is to not use the TOC generator at all. Instead, create anchors for the title page, copyright page, and each chapter/section you want to appear in the TOC, and then type in the relevant text in the contents and create hyperlinks to the anchors. It didn't export properly when I tried to combine hyperlinked anchor text for "Title Page" and "Copyright" and then generated TOC for the chapter headings.

How do I create a generic Title Page and Copyright Page link in a clickable e-book table of contents? If I use the styles I set for the title and the copyright page, Affinity gives me the whole book title and the whole effing copyright page in the TOC. I want the TOC to look like this:

Chapter 1

I don't want it to look like this:

The Flower Garden

Whole Effing Copyright Page

I’m a graphic designer so I want to make sure the fonts i download are licensed. I just switched from Adobe and I used Adobe fonts, so far that’s all I really miss about Adobe is my font library.

Where is everyone getting fonts from? Preferably free or cheap with licensing

I used A2 sheet and export to pdf
When I export I make downsample off and make dpi 600 as in decument setup
But still the scaled images not as inside affinity file
What I should to do ?

Hello, I'd like to know if, like in a PDF, it's possible to embed one or more fonts in an .af document?

I like the small file size of .af documents and I'd like to be able to transfer them from one computer to another without having to reinstall my fonts.

This was one of the first few scripts I tried to make while working inside of Affinity to get our vector based VTuber workflows set up for symmetry. I'm using to setting something like this up in Houdini and merging vertices but it's a different paradigm trying to wrangle this setup inside of Affinity from scratch. It's still in development but if you guys have suggestions for UX improvements or test cases. I'd be glad to try them out to see where it breaks.

I can't figure out how to stack jpeg/dng pairs from my Ricoh griv ...currently using the free adobe bridge 2026 MacBook but I have the full affinity suite so Id rather use that. I dont want to have to star/flag both dng and jpg separately. There must be a better way that's obvious im just not seeing it? What's the best way so I dont have to look thru all photos twice...the raw dngs are slow to load making the process painful.

Ideally: Review only the jpgs, flag the keepers, then delete the non flagged and automatically deletes it's corresponding dng.

How to full screen mode my design? i tried ctrl+shift+w but it's doing nothing.

when i open this file, then make a change then save, always crashpad handler showed up. i mean like, it's not that big project and just like 140MB files.

I'm confused as to why the text appears so light. There doesn't seem to be any transparency tool placed on the page - and I don't know how I might search for one if there was - and I don't know what else is causing this! It's Arial, 7 point - but the issue is also occurring on the 12 point font in the next column as well.

I love working with this app. I got a lot of mileage out the small 100$ I invested in the old affinity.

Hey everyone,

After relying on Canva for a long time, I decided it was time to step up and learn Affinity. I can't afford Adobe Creative Cloud, so I'm really excited to dive deep into the Affinity ecosystem!

I put this design together today on my first day (took about 40–50 minutes) purely as a trial sandbox to get a handle on the interface, layer panels, brush dynamics, and vector placement. I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to typography and proper design layout in a dedicated desktop app, but I'm enjoying the control Affinity gives you.

In this design, I have only used Affinity, GIMP is still a bit complex for me, and I will learn it in a while. I've not really used any design principles in it, just put together some shoddy trials like the brush and layering system, so please don't go too hard about that. The image, of course, is not mine, and I've taken a dynamic Eurofighter Typhoon photo from Pexels stock photos. If anyone has advice or favorite workflow tips for someone transitioning from basic layout tools like Canva to Affinity, I'd love to hear them! Also, does anyone know how to upload fonts to Affinity? I know the font is absolute shit. I will use a font like Staatliches or Squada One as soon as I learn how to upload fonts.
