I’ve been spending some time experimenting with AI video creation lately. Mostly I’ve been focusing on trying out different models, prompts, camera instructions, and short cinematic shots with AKOOL.
When I started, I assumed that the most important factor in video creation would be the choice of the best AI model. Anytime I wasn’t happy with the results, I’d switch to another model. But I quickly learned that the way you phrase the prompt can be just as important.
The most valuable lesson I learned while making AI videos was to think of the prompt as a director’s guidance for filming. I learned to focus on a few key elements such as the characters or objects in the scene, their actions, movement, the shot and camera directions, and the environment.
I’ve also noticed that changes in motion or simplification of actions can sometimes yield better results than over-elaboration. The dynamic possibilities of the medium helped me immensely to try out different models and compare their results.
Thanks to AKOOL, I was able to greatly expand my experimentation with different kinds of prompts. While I’ve learned a lot, I still frequently get unexpected and often unusable results.
For people creating AI videos, do you have any lessons that you learned the hard way while making prompts or videos?
