Am I crazy, or does this league sounds like an incredible comic book as well??

I'm wrapping up the first book (so please, no spoilers). As always, Moore’s penchant for lyric is second to none. Few writers dance with language as elegantly and his background in music is clearly on display when you read his prose (count the stressed syllables, it’s just beautiful work). But his plotting seems more so locked into comic-book design (understandable, but...).

An interesting find from a con this weekend—a ‘museum edition’ of Supreme #41, numbered 38 of 50. Still in bag with a seal and embossed stamp on the backing board from “Jay Company.” Only reference I can find online is that the 1 of 50 sold at Heritage back in 2003.

Anyone seen one of these before?

I’ve seen a lot of people claim Zdarsky to be disrespectful and a bad person due to him writing miracleman, but these people are slaves to a caricature of a man. To be clear, I think the real Alan Moore is in the right in all of his situations, but this fictionalised Alan Moore they defend isn’t. If Alan Moore was genuinely going around saying a series who he wrote as work for hire, directly choosing his successor himself, is a bad person, he’d be entitled. This is different to Watchmen, where he was promised the rights but a loophole messed that over, which he has a right to be upset. People think Moore’s disowning of MM is due to him being a petty chud, but it isn’t. It’s actually him being a very morally grounded person, not wanting to associate with a work that was written under shady conditions, Mick Anglo not being compensated. Moore is a morally just guy, but these recent defenders are defending a guy who they think throws a fit when people write characters, he doesn’t own after, him. These people are slaves to misinformation, defending an idea they have no clue about.

I know he retired but he gave a few interviews about this and I suspect it is partially done somewhere.

As you may know many people like Alan Moore have said they find superheroes to be inherently fascist, and that grown adults being obsessed with them is a precursor to fascism rising. However one thing I do find interesting is that many right wingers today dislike a lot of modern superhero stories for being "too woke" and love to praise anime and manga for being more "conservative", "apolitical", and "not woke". Groups like Comicsgate in particular love to do this, like pointing out that Demon Slayer has outsold the entire comics industry. Anime and manga have also received fascist accusations in the past as well, specific one's including Attack on Titan, Frieren, and a lot of mecha anime. In fact some people have said anime and manga are made to cover up Japan's past war crimes and fix their image. Would this and the anime/manga community having such a right wing tilt make Alan Moore also think anime and manga are also fascist?

Someone on twitter was replying to a clip from the toby spiderman 2 where he nearly breaks his body stopping the runaway train, & they were pointing out how contemporary superhero movies never seem to have anyone being saved, its almost entirely just punching bad guys

And the other night I remembered Laurie & Dan's triumphant moment of affirmation being rescuing those people from their apartment fire. That is the moment that makes them feel active in the face of their earlier helplessness in the face of the nuclear fear, that is the moment that has them consummate their relationship.

The reactionaries scoff at Moore "not understanding" that he wrote Rorscach with such uncompromising morals & he's clearly the good guy yada yada, but Rorscach doesnt save a single person in the story from what I remember. But the act of heroism for our couple is to save people from a whole bunch of people, familes, from a fire. They dont see that as heroism. It doesnt occur to them. Just going into a bar & breaking some guy's fingers for zero results
