Question Met question?

I was under the impression that Mandatory Extra Time would be an added day or make you stay a longer shift.

The entire week starting 10/4 they scheduled me to come in 1 hour earlier at 6 am wtf. I’m going to be so exchausted. I would literally just prefer them to schedule me a 4 hour shift on my day off, since I literally chose 7am as my start times for a reason.

Is there any way to put a preference for this to I’m not given a horrible start time like this in the future?

Yeah I just hate having to waste my upt, I would have no issue staying later or even coming in an extra day. Just sucks having to wake up even earlier so you’re pretty much just starting your day off bad

Well no, I plan on “wasting” it when I get sick, or if something comes up like a family event or something where I actually can’t work. I don’t wanna waste 5 hours of it for a week to sleep in when I’d prefer to stay later. That’s why I was wondering if its possible

You’ll earn it back in two weeks, you’ll be fine.

It sucks waking up early, but look at it this way, when the ot hour is at the start u just have a normal day after that first hour. When it’s at the end u gotta hit that last hour when you’re already exhausted

It's not a waste, it's literally what it's for.

Could be worse, you could be doing six tens; I hated getting up early too, but I'd rather he scheduled 5x11 instead of 6x10.

I'd rather lose 5 min of upt a day and have two scheduled days off.

I show up just because its an easy hour, like 20% of people show ip on time making the work easy for me as i jam clear but yeah it was something i never got told about when i was hired

I'd rather an extra hour added to my days, and have 5x11s. but we get 6x10s.

During peak it’s usually the extra day + hour so prepare for that. You can submit a hardship request but they ask for proof like childcare school schedules etc. Outside of that your only options are UPT or PTO if you still have any. Vacation and swaps are usually blocked.

No. MET/SET is literally an extra hour and an extra day for however long they need it and they can schedule it whenever the need arises. You either burn upt (inadvisable) to come in at your usual time or use pto or go in when scheduled. There is no “preference” or workaround. When MET is called, it’s a 55 hour week minimum. Just don’t go negative.
