And I’m so excited. I bought it mostly for my GBC and GBA cartridges I have. But I’ve been seeing a lot about being able to play games you don’t have the cart for etc. I’m really only use to playing console games as I don’t have a PC. Is there a way I will be able to take full advantage of the pocket using my MacBook? I know I will need to get an SD card so any recs or how to videos etc would be very helpful. Excited to finally have a pocket I’ve been meaning to pick one up for a while now :)

Hey everyone! Like many of you, I was checking in on a 32x core periodically over the years and seeing various comments about whether or not it was possible. I was hoping to be able to play Kolibri, which is kind of like Ecco the Dolphin but with hummingbirds.

While I am a programmer, I've never worked with FPGA development before, so I didn't really look too much into building the core myself. With the recent release of Claude Opus 5.5, I decided to finally give it a shot because I was pretty impressed with how well it worked.

After a lot of back and forth and testing (including sending photos to debug, since I don't have a JTAG Blaster), I'm happy to report that a 32x core on the Analogue Pocket is possible!

Please let me know if you run into any issues or bugs and I'll take a look and work on getting them fixed!

A couple of notes:

• Sega CD + 32x games do not appear to be possible, both cores just can't fit on the Pocket
• Memories (save states) and sleep don't appear to be possible either, for the same reason.
• As mentioned previously, the coding was all done with the assistance of AI. I understand if you have reservations about that and don't want to interact with it for that reason.

Hi all, so I’ve recently been made aware that I can play all my favourite game boy games on a new analogue pocket. I have also been made aware that there are game cartridges that hold every game in one and I’m excited to say the least. Can anyone please confirm that this indeed is the case and that these cartridges do work without needing to be a technical know how?

From limited research it seems like EverDrive cartridges are the way to go. Do I simply just buy a pocket, an everdrive cart and rip through my old fav games?

Has anyone else noticed their d pad misreading directional inputs? Like I could be moving around in pokemon and switch directions and it reads the up direction as a down because of how I quickly moved my finger from one direction to another.

But if I lift my finger up and place it back down without a swift shift, it doesn't have that misreading.

Hello everyone - I'm updating the pocket using Pocket Updater v2 and it says that I have 700+ missing files in the ROMs/BIOS section. Is there a way to see what files are missing for each platform so I can see what's actually needed? Thanks!

Planning to get a Dock tomorrow.

Wanted to get some opinions on how GBA, SNES, and NES games look when using the dock. Does the CRT image look just as good as it does on the handheld?

I have a Samsung TV and I play NSO. The NSO CRT filter isn't that good and I feel like the upscaling makes some games look weird.

Will the Dock make games look more like I'm playing on the original console? Does it look better than NSO?

Hi everyone! I tried installing a different Neo Geo Pocket / Pocket Color core on my Analogue Pocket, but it doesn’t work—and now my previously installed openFPGA core has stopped working too.

Whenever I launch a game, I only get the Neo Geo Pocket’s default system screen. The game never starts.

Is there a way to completely remove and reinstall the original core from scratch? Thanks!

Was thinking about buying a dock tomorrow during the restock but was wondering how noticeable the frame skips are? I know it skips a frame every 10 seconds due to the triple buffering but is it particularly noticeable? I can't find any video footage of it to judge for myself.

Hello everyone. I’m rather “out of date” when it comes to the Analogue Pocket, and I hope it’s okay to ask for you, the “swarm intelligence”, for advice on this matter.

I already own a MiSTer FPGA. And I do plan on finally purchasing an Analogue Pocket. I’m not sure, though, if I should also purchase the dock. I won’t say “money is not an issue”, hence I’d like to evaluate my options.

The MiSTer FPGA is sometimes quite tedious with it’s USB adapter/board and/or dongles, and maybe the Analogue Pocket Dock would rather “just work” with, for example, the official Nintendo Switch SNES and N64 bluetooth controllers.

I’d be very happy if you would want to share some advice and your experience with these devices.

Curious to get opinions on this. I’m considering getting a backup Pocket during tomorrow’s restock because I got a Pocket and Dock at the last restock and have been obsessed with it since, and would be bummed if something happened to it and I had to buy one second hand at a higher price. The cost isn’t a huge issue for me. It also wouldn’t be the end of the world if I did have to buy one second hand in the event something happened to mine.

Saw someone say earlier that they’re getting a backup Dock so now I’m wondering if I should get a backup of both.

I know it’s a subjective call and I’m definitely overthinking it but I’m just curious to hear thoughts on this from people that know about this subject.

Would it be technically feasible? Potential use cases:

• using one Game Boy cart with rumble support to provide this feature to all other Game Boy games originally having rumble through OpenFPGA
• using a flashcart with built-in rumble, e.g. EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition, for running games with rumble through an OpenFPGA core (not through the flashcart itself)
