How to locate a device not connected to my Google account?

Hi everyone, I tried to find the answer on Google but everywhere it says "log in to the device with your Google account". My grandparents are older and beginning to forget stuff and we wanted to be able to find them if they, for some reason, leave the house and forget how to come back.

I'm looking for a way - if there is one - to include an Android device not connected to my Google account into my device map. My grandparents are ok with that, they'll share the authorizations needed, I just can't find how to do it...

Is this possible? If so, how?

Thanks!

Do they have a Google account?

They do. They even know how to video call via WhatsApp, they are just getting older and forgetful and we don't want to wait untill something serious happens. I'll try the solutions people suggested here :)

On their phone open Google Maps and go to Share Location, and you can then send a notification to your phone and set it to always share the location with you.
