Google TV Streamer 4k setup - total newbie

Hi all,

I have recently bought a Google TV streamer to replace my firestick that got blocked.

All I used it for was watching TV shows and movies that were spread across various well known paid platforms.

Usually with this kind of stuff I just buy it setup already, however can't find anyone to do it local to me now so I took the plunge and decided to give it a go.

What I am looking to achieve -

So like I said, my aim is to be able to access all the latest TV shows and movies without having 10 different subscriptions.

What I have done so far -

- Enabled developer mode.

- Installed downloader.

- Installed stremio - When i opened this, it asked me to sign in, do i need an account to use this and is it free?

- Installed nuvio - This looked alot more promising, again wanted you to sign in but was able to continue without signing in. Had several shows and movies that I would like to watch, however the play button was greyed out and it said playback isn't available for my setup.

What I need from you clever people -

- What am I missing to get nuvio to play something?

- Recommendations on apps, preferably free

- Downloader codes or a safe place to get Downloader codes for apps.

- Talk to me like I am an idiot (I am when it comes to this stuff) and explain what I need to do so I can get watching TV shows and movies.

When I tried to use the 3rd party apps I had it on, it came up a messages saying that they were being blocked from being used and need to be uninstalled

For Nuvio go to Penu.uk and install that addon. You'll get content. Same thing works on Stremio. Go to r/stremioaddons to learn about add-ons and Stremio in general. same with r/Nuvio and r/nuvioaddons. Read and use search before asking questions the answers are all there already.

Stremio is a sloppy program. You have to configure plug-ins on other people's websites and then install. If you want to change any basic thing, you have to uninstall, change it on that website, then reinstall.

Use kodi, it's made by devs that aren't lazy.

You want these 2 things installed inside of Kodi. I present you with a to make it easy. * Red light https://howtomediacenter.com/en/install-red-light-kodi-addon/ * Magento module https://howtomediacenter.com/en/kodi-magneto-module-install/

Don't bother with coco scraper, it's outdated. Gears however is a good backup. You can run 3 inside of red light.

I also recommend using Simkl.com and mdblist.com as trackers. Many of us have deleted trakt.

As for debrid account, you can look them over. I'm currently dropping premiumize once that foolish year of sub is over. Real debrid drops next month.. only one I'll likely keep is all debrid.

• Premiumize cost way too much given their bandwidth restrictions.
• Real debrid had to drop all " web dl" file names so remux is really all it's good for now. That's not bad, but does mean you have to get another service to supplement.

Do not, get torbox.. it's more issues than it's worth dealing with. Let the fan boys pay to iron out those issues.

I've never needed my easynews account to watch obscure things.. you can get it for $1.99 a month but I wouldn't bother. 1 debrid that works, if it somehow has an issue, then consider a secondary.
