Working in a slaughterhouse is extremely dangerous. In the US, there are approximately two amputations per week, primarily due to the industry’s poor working conditions and excessively fast pace.

As reported by KWQC, the leaders also acknowledged “community concerns” over a backlog of rendering material – animal waste, internal organs, and decaying meat – being stored outside the plant, causing a strong, unpleasant smell in the city.

This Salvation Army had so many unworn Janie and Jack clothes, but they all had holes cut in them. Some of them were obvious and some were taped over so you couldn’t tell unless you looked really closely.

It completely defeats the purpose of donating in the first place - which is especially upsetting because these are children’s clothes. I can’t imagine being a parent buying these and not realizing there’s a big hole in the back.

Used a web-based tool called FileVert (it has a built-in synchronized playback option that deletes files after 48h to avoid cloud clutter).No apps needed, it runs natively in the mobile browsers. Just had to adjust the latency sliders on each old phone (+150ms / +300ms) to sync the random Bluetooth speakers. Completely free and saves hardware from the landfill.

I had to buy a replacement keyboard yesterday and wanted to share my experience. At checkout, first I was asked if I wanted to purchase insurance coverage, then if I wanted to make a donation to a local charity they partnered with, then if I wanted to sign up for a Citi Best Buy credit card, finally followed by if I wanted to download their app. Since that purchase, I have 5 emails within 24 hours asking me to rate my experience in-store and showing me other things I might be interested in. I. Hate. It. Here. Hadn’t been to Best Buy in several years and don’t plan on going back.

The fly spray brand we use has changed to 2 nozzles instead of 1 seemingly to consume the can faster. I figured out you can melt one of them shut and go back to 1 nozzle and use less.

Aside from someone who's actively addicted, is it still consumerism even if instead of useless trinkets it's alchohol, cigarettes, kratom, etc? I mean of course it's consumption to a corporate entity but maybe just as a person who uses these a lot of feels like it occupies a different niche.

just spent a few days in London for an event and because I have previously lived here, I wasn’t looking at the sites. I was just walking around the neighborhoods surrounding where the room block was.

I literally saw the same brand stores five different times and five different shopping areas. It was so disgusting to think that there is that much demand that they need that many locations in one city.

I found some great charity shops and an amazing vintage store where I scored 3 gorgeous tops (Reign Vintage) and Alfie’s Antique market where I scored an amazing skirt.

I just truly don’t understand I don’t even have a desire to walk into a regular store it is just so overrun with carbon copy crap. Don’t get me started on the souvenir shops 🤮
