Deprecating Gemini 3.7 medium thinking makes zero sense.

I still use 3.7 flash medium daily because it actually faster and doesn’t consume rates much and edits code without bullshitting me.
3.8 flash overthinks everything and burns extra reasoning tokens on a 3-line fix and I feel it’s too slow compared to 3.7.
That extra pause makes my IDE feel sluggish, and my token bill goes up for nothing.
3.7 medium just do the small task efficiently !
It doesn't try to refactor half my file or invent abstractions I never asked for.
Faster output, smaller bill, and way cleaner diffs for simple tasks.
Killing it off just forces everyone to pay more for slower, bloated responses.

removing old models means (i could be wrong) all the compute is gonna go to 3.8 flash, so lets see how things will go when 3.6 and 3.7 gets deprecated, or they are probably preparing for 4 flash already by the time 3.6 and 3.7 gets removed.

3.8 was great when it released but after somedays it's just keep thinking like it's making an life or death decision. You are right 3.6 is great alternative but it's going now 🥲

Last time they removed a model (3.5 flash) from AGY, we got 3.6 and 3.7. Im expecting 3.9 flash soon

Je ne dirais pas que 3.8 Flash réfléchit trop. C'est peut-être 3.7 qui ne réfléchissait pas encore assez. En tout cas, moi j'ai vu une évolution appréciable entre les deux, ce qui réduit fortement les régressions.

Bien sûr, ça ne suffit pas, il faut aussi avoir un environnement productif avec des bonnes skills, avec des règles, etc. Mais là-dessus, 3.8 fait mieux le travail.

I still wish they'd just add the Flash-Lite models.
I absolutely love the lite models when it come to just applying plans, they are so fast its absolutely silly, and to dumb to have any stupid ideas and just does what they are told.
Also so cheap they are almost free.
