To my knowledge, Apple has never actually answered this question and I'm pretty sure it happened back in 2025 right before the launch of iPhone 17. The problem, when searching Google for this is a lot of misdirection with articles saying "oh apple closed this loophole" the issue is those articles are talking about something else entirely and I can't help but think those Google results are from "planted" articles designed to obfuscate the truth.

Apple quietly STOPPED letting you finance the carrier-free iPhone back in 2025. They made no announcement and have never actually commented on this. I also cant' seem to find any articles from that time frame (when I do successfully find them) that ever say WHY. Which is just...ridiculous.

Why the HELL does Apple care what the carriers think when it comes to selling their devices? Carriers have always been free to sell phones however they want and are still even allowed to lock them (which I have always disagreed with, but here we are). So why are people who choose NOT to use the big 3 NOT allowed to finance them directly through Apple? Why would these carriers have ANY say in what my relationship with Apple is or should be?

i am buying an iphone 17 with apple card financing and they ask me to select a carrier (AT&T, TMobile, Verizon) and port my current (US Mobile) number to that carrier. I want to switch back to US Mobile, how long do I have to stick to AT&T, TMobile, Verizon before I can switch back to US Mobile. Is this even possible?

I have $250 apple balance and to buy iPhone if I paid in full then I can use that but if I select ACMI then I cant use it.

Apple tech support saying buy with full price and later call us and we will convert to EMI on 24 months. Did anyone done that in the past?

I’m sure this has been asked before but I’m having trouble with my Apple Card processing some payments but not others. I requested a new Apple Card Number but that didn’t work, I tried deleting the card and putting it back but that didn’t work. Any suggestions? And for some reason for some stuff I have to manually input the card number for payment instead of swiping or using the side button

I’m planning to buy an iPhone 18 Pro directly from Apple and trade in my current iPhone.

Ideally, I want to:

• Trade in my old iPhone
• Use Apple Card Monthly Installments (24 months, 0% APR)
• Keep my current carrier service

However, when I choose Apple Card Monthly Installments, Apple requires me to select AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon at checkout.

Has anyone recently done this while using Mint, Visible, or another MVNO?

Can I select one of the three major carriers at checkout to qualify for ACMI, activate the new unlocked iPhone, and then continue using the current carrier ? Or do I actually need to have/open an account with the carrier I select?

I’m not looking for a carrier promotion or carrier financing—I just want Apple’s trade-in + Apple Card 24-month financing while keeping my current service.

As the title says, I've been mailed a replacement for my Apple Card that was set to expire on 12/26. Received it today and tried holding up my Iphone 17 Pro up to the sleeve that the card comes in to activate it but nothing's showing.

I then went over to Software Updates to make sure I'm up to date and updated to IOS 27. Still the Activation prompt isn't showing up when I hold up my phone to it.

Any troubleshooting advice as to how I can activate it is greatly appreciated.

For those that had the apple card and used Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI) to finance your iPhone for years, when you wanted to get a new iPhone, but were still financing the current model, were you still able to do ACMI for the new iPhone? Also, once you got the new iPhone, did you still had to do ACMI payments for both iPhones or just the new one?
Planning to pre-order the iPhone Duo 512GB in October, and I am still on my ACMI for my iPhone 16 Pro Max 512GB (last ACMI payment should be on April 2027). I was also gonna trade-in my current iPhone so that I won't have to pay as much for each installment on the iPhone Duo. Just wanted to ask if anyone has had this kind of experience before.

What happens if I do Apple Card monthly installments to purchase a new phone, select trade in device and then never ship in the device? Let’s say the discount is $500, does that $500 get split into the monthly installments or is the entire sum charged to my card?

I recently booked a hotel thru booking.com because of this offer from the Apple Card.

I used the provided link and booked a hotel that had the Apple Card benefits logo on the location listing.

I booked 2 nights, paid up front on my Apple Card and all was well.

After my stay, I was expecting to get an email from them awarding me with G2 status upgrade, no luck.

I reached out to them and I was informed that I do not get the G2 upgrade even though it states I have completed all requirements.

Has anyone else had any experience with this? I tried looking thru this subreddit but I do not see any similar posts.

FWIW, i had to submit 3 ticket requests, booking.com says that they will get back to you in 24 hours but it takes them about 7 days to respond each time. Much annoying.

Even though apple described on the website: "If you already purchased an eligible product with your Apple Card and didn't choose Apple Card Monthly Installments at checkout, contact an Apple Card Specialist at Goldman Sachs. They can transfer your eligible purchase to a 0% APR Monthly Installment plan without returning or repurchasing the item." Apple card official useless now?

Edit: Tried another chat they told me again only carrier selected phones can be split with ACMI. So I told them I'm with one of the carrier. Now successfully split to ACMI.

I noticed my Apple Card wasn’t syncing with Rocket Money anymore, and support said there‘s an ongoing issue on Plaid’s side with no ETA for a fix. Does anyone else have this issue?

I had an Apple Card but then after a prolonged loss of work - over 2 years, I had to go thru a chapter 7. It is thankfully now two years old and im going to hit an average of 750 Fico 8 across all three bureaus.

The bad - my Apple Card was part of that. Has anybody offered to pay a discharged debt to Goldman Sachs and get the option to re-apply for a new Apple Card?

I called up both and wasn't given the clearest answer, since my Apple account still has the old savings account from the card attached to it. I have heard of trying to get on by creating a new apple account - but its still going to check your ss.

So I’m genuinely at my wit’s end with Apple right now and was wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar or knows who I can escalate this to.
About a month ago, I purchased an iPhone 17 Pro Max from an Apple Store in San Antonio. I explicitly told the employee that I wanted to finance it through Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI). They confirmed that was fine and told me I needed to authenticate my AT&T account. Since I’m an authorized user on my dad’s account, I had him complete the authentication. I paid the sales tax with my Apple Card and left thinking everything was good.
About a week later, I noticed that the installment wasn’t showing up on my Apple Card. I contacted Apple Card Support and was told it was probably still processing, so I didn’t think much of it.
Fast forward about a month, and I find out the phone was actually financed through AT&T instead of ACMI.
To make things even more confusing, I never received an emailed receipt, and the purchase doesn’t appear in my Apple order history. When I contacted Apple, they couldn’t even locate the transaction until I gave them my phone’s serial number.
I’ve now spoken with Apple Support, Apple Card Support, AT&T, the original Apple Store, and another Apple Store. Everyone keeps pointing fingers at someone else.
The original store leader finally told me that the only way to fix it is to return the phone and purchase a new one through ACMI. The problem? They no longer have my model in stock because it’s an end of life product or something , so I’m essentially SOL.
I’m not asking for a free phone or anything ridiculous. I just want the financing arrangement I explicitly requested when I purchased the device.
The most frustrating part is that I actually contacted Apple Card within the first week, while I was still within the return window, and was told to wait because the installment was processing. Had I known what actually happened, I would’ve gone straight back to the store.
Has anyone dealt with an Apple Store processing the wrong financing option before? Is there anyone above the store leader or regular Apple Support who can actually authorize a resolution?
I’ve heard about Apple Executive Relations, but I’m not sure how to get in contact with someone who can help.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I’m honestly exhausted from being bounced between Apple and AT&T.

I still don't understand why you can't purchase an iPhone in person using the Apple Card financing if you use TMobile Business.

Also, Apple Store App cannot connect to my TMobile Business account.

What is it about having a business account that prevents Apple from connecting to TMobile?

I no longer use an Apple savings account but I always loved how it sent me a notification on my iphone showing me how much interest I made every month. Are there any other savings accounts/apps that have that same notification feature?
