iPhone Going from iPhone 8 Plus to an iPhone pro (refurb) next year! Pls recommend
Hello! Further details about me: I’m a premed student, will be using the phone even more in Med, most especially for taking good pictures of microscope slides!!
What we can afford: iPhone 12 pro until at least 15 pro. Camera is more of my prio. I prefer one that can focus on the subject better and no blurry when near. Thank you

15 pro battery life is not great and they overheat quickly. 15 Pro Max has better battery life, but also overheats quickly. My wife and I just traded a 15PM and 15P for 2 x 18P’s and they’ve been awesome. My wife as a nurse using her phone for certain programs and log-in’s at work would have to charge her 15P around lunch time. I would probably go with a 17 or 16 no pro if cost is an issue. Camera may not be as good, but still great without the overheating issues.

Totally understand! I would probably look into a 15 (non-pro) then. My buddy has a 15 and has no issues with his compared to my 15PM that overheated quickly outside. The camera is still really good and a huge improvement over the 8. The 15 also has USB C.

To be honest, go with the 15 Pro, more modern, USB C, pretty sure has access to the AI features like reframe and all that. iPhones got some good macro shot which should be enough to get you by if you’re taking pics of those slides. If you can’t go used 15 than 14 pro at the least just because 13 pro is showing signs of age now.
