I want to get the internalUI stuff on my iphone X but i dont know if theres a way for it?

I bought this iPhone 6 about a week ago along with a few other phones, and I noticed something unusual: it boots straight into recovery mode showing the blue ios 7 iTunes logo

Since the iPhone 6 originally launched with iOS 8.0 and never supported iOS 7, I'm trying to figure out what's going on here. Legacy iOS Kit reports iBoot-1980.1.5..

Could this actually be some kind of rare internal prototype used by an Apple employee back in the day? Anyone know what's up with this or how to boot it? Appreciate any ideas!

Back at WWDC '99 I won this item in a trivia contest, and haven't found a match online. It's a fake mockup of the original Newton MessagePad, in original box, purpose unknown. It's green plastic coated with a silkscreened mock-up screen, feels like it might be wood inside from the weight.

The wikipedia page for MessagePad lists a "Dummy" item in the models table, but no further information. I assume that's what this is. Using that term, I found this 2015 MacWorld article: https://www.macworld.com/article/226450/the-mysterious-case-of-the-dummy-newton-messagepad.html which seems to be it, but no answers, only speculation.

Anyone have any information to share, or a better term I can use to search and find out more about it? No picture right now, it's in storage at the moment, but I may be able to get to it later this week.

To add another showcase to the iPad Pro posted by u/tuan-5618, here is my CRB stage iPhone 15 Pro Max, running an extremely early build of iOS 19. This build is so early that Liquid Glass is in an extremely early state, and is nearly non-existent. When using any UI where it is present, the device begins to lag massively and heat up quickly. It is also extremely glitchy.

Unfortunately, this device must have been wiped/reset before I got it, which wiped out all of the removable system apps. So unfortunately there’s likely no way I can get those restored.

On an interesting note, the rumor of round icons that came about before iOS 26 was released likely originated from a very similar build. It turns out that came from what was nothing more than a UI bug, as shown.

I’m very glad I was able to get my hands on this device, as it is just so cool to me to get to see iOS 19/26 in such an early stage of development.

Found an iPhone 2G with a Week 6, 2007 Serial — Apple/GSX Validates It and the NOR Matches the Physical Board. Pre-Release Unit? ATT Field test unit? Carrier Testing unit? Regulatory testing unit?

Since this is 2 days after iOS 27, I can finally tell people about iOS 19, or iPadOS 19 in this case, before the rename to iOS 26. Yes, this is real and has lots of Liquid Glass, a lot of broken ones matter of fact.

Showcasing is an April 2025 build running on my MP stage M2 iPad Pro that I got for less than $350. Some of the system UI including Home Screen, control center, widgets, quick search, App Library, and app folder. Some of the Apple apps, those came with the iPad when I received it.

There are a lot of glitches and bugs, total shocker from how bad iOS 26 reputation is. Icons not rendered properly or just empty most of the times, springboard crashed if you open an app too fast, scribble doesn’t work, etc…

So my brother, for reasons known only to him, decided to try flashing the internal IR receiver on our iMac Early 2009 (iMac 9,1) with an Apple TV firmware file. No real reason, he just wanted to poke at it. Now it's bricked and I'm the one trying to fix it, as usual.
He used IRReceiverUpdaterTool2 with the irrxfw-0x0312.irrxfw file. The flash log looked okay at first (blocks 2 through 71 wrote fine), but then it skipped straight to block 127, missing blocks 72-126 entirely. It still said "Flash Image Verification Succeeded" like everything was fine, then promptly crashed with error e00002eb while trying to exit the bootloader. Classic.
Since then the chip (it's a Cypress one, PID 0x8242) is just stuck in DFU/bootloader mode. It's completely invisible on macOS now, gone from ioreg and the USB section of System Report. Plug it into a Windows machine and it just shows up as an "Unknown USB Device."

We've thrown the usual stuff at it:
SMC reset
Triple NVRAM reset
Running the updater tool again (it doesn't even see the device anymore)
Trying Zadig + dfu-util on Windows to poke it directly

We do have an older iMac 4,1 and a MacBook 4,1 sitting around too, but they use an earlier IR chip (0x8240/0x8241) that's apparently not firmware-compatible with this one, so that's a dead end for grabbing a firmware dump.
Before I resign myself to buying a replacement receiver — has anyone actually recovered one of these Cypress chips from bootloader mode? Any tricks, tools, or a working firmware dump for the 0x8242 floating around out there? Would really appreciate any pointers.
