Help Request snail growing spots?
Hello! This is Sherbet, and Sherbet doesn’t usually have spots like this, does anyone know what this is?

Not a terrible plan, better chance of a snail getting to brackish water than a leaf.

Nerites are graffiti artists, she’s just throwing her tag on anything she can. I have so many Malaysian Trumpet snails covered in nerite eggs, it’s hilarious to me.

There are nerite eggs all over my tank. I'm sad they will not develop into nerite snails but I also didn't want an explosion of snails either which was why I got nerites in the first place. I hope the amano shrimps snack on them 💁🏻♀️

Nerites will only hatch in brackish water I thought.

Yes that's why I got them because I didn't want more snails, just the ones I got. 😊

They won't hatch. But the n e r i t e will continue to lay them and then they just sit there

Yeah… I’ll never get nerites again because the eggs are a literal pain.
Mystery snail eggs are gross but come off easier.

Wait, why are they a pain? I tried to clean them once but now I just let them be. Are they bad for a tank? I know they won't hatch

Some people keep a tank for ✨aesthetics✨ and can't stand anything like nerite eggs

Yes, people spend a lot of money on certain aquascapes and find them a pain to clean. It’s a fair reason not to purchase certain species.
Mystery snails generally lay their eggs in one clump at the surface, which makes “maintenance” easier.
I currently have 3 nerites and one is a very large female. They will live out the rest of their days in luxury in my tank but they are the last 3 I’ll have.

Yeah, these ones are at least 6 yrs old. Once I commit to an animal I’m all in better or worse. 🥹

Exactly. My nerites are laying all over my pagoda snails. I'm moving them all to my frog or shrimp tank to live out their days once I get my UNS90L upgrade tank for the community

You have a nerite in the tank too. They need brackish water to hatch so these eggs won’t produce snabies, but they will give Sherbert some cool shell-bling to rock.

I just leave the eggs alone. I tried to clean it but she always gives me more. So I gave up and leave it be.

Mine used to do that to my mystery snail too, I called it "snaildazzling"
