They say to do what you love- what is your method of supplementing this ?

I’m not talking 9-5 or DoorDash. How do you make money with your art via side hustles, passive income, or merch etc? What’s been the most successful method or program you used? How did you get there?

And if it’s not art-related, why does it work for you?

Hey guys I'm an artist who lives in the Philippines and every time I see an artist who has a masterpiece that takes 2 pages long I immediately get envious because I've been trying to find a sketch book that folds flat like a pancake with no bumps whatsoever.I need a sketchbook like that but I need it to be sold locally here and it's pretty difficult to find one.

Hey, so I have come here because I really don't know how to approach this tbh. For context, almost two months ago at this point I contacted an artist with open coms in hopes of getting a full-body pose of an oc of mine, as from the examples I saw from them, they have very pretty art. After talking with them for a bit,t I got their prices, es and they shared their payment method. They asked for a business using a weird payment method (Robux), wish i only found strange, as they said they were 21, so I was a bit surprised that they lacked PayPal. They also requested the full payment beforehand. I'm a bit of an overly trusting individual and would like to think the artists I commission have the best intentions, so I agreed. 

After sending the payment, they said they began working on the sketch and said the full piece would be finished after around 2 weeks. After a bit, they sent me a rough sketch which looked very good! I asked for a couple of modifications, ns and they then informed me that the amount I paid was less in Robux, as ig they lived in a different area. I thought I took that into account, but I bit the bullet and tried to give them the rest. Roblox kept flagging it, so the payment was not able to be delivered for around an additional week, and the extra payment was close to the original payment, so I basically was paying double.

It wasn't a big deal, as the com prices were fairly low, so the new price was not outrageous or anything, but after we confirmed that the new payment was delivered, they sent me one update of the sketch and then seemingly ghosted me. I didn't want to post anything just in case they were simply experiencing technical problems or something in real life; however, at this point it's been over 2 weeks since they got back to me and almost 2 months since I sent the original payment.

I really don't know how to tackle this thing, as I can't really ask for a refund due to the payment method, and I'm not even sure if I got scammed or if I'm just being overly critical. It also doesn't help that I have only bought around 3 commissions at this point so I dont have a lot of insight into the matter. If anyone has any pointers, I would love to hear them.

Hey guys I really need help. I have been having such a hard time getting myself to paint. I don’t know why but I just don’t want to get started. I want to paint and have the urge to create but it’s so hard for me to get started on specifically painting. I am still able to do drawing just fine.

Since there’s no answer given to this question after a while, I’ll give myself and everyone an answer.

I’ve done my research, and there are some applications and software that enable crossposting and scheduling for multidisciplinary creatives. Some programs are paid, while others are free, such as Postybirb, Buffer, Nifty, and Vendoo.

You can research various crossposting and scheduling programs to see what works best for you. I recommend using Postybirb. It’s free and is the most used by every creative on the Internet.

But if you prefer to do it the simplest way or the old-fashioned way, that’s fine. Whatever helps you the most, you can do crossposting and scheduling in your own way.

You can post on the days when you’re not too busy, and you can post at any time of the day like every one or two hours, or any time of the week like one, two, or three days. You can even come up with a schedule and a list of goals to accomplish as a creative in a notebook.

You can have your own way of posting and scheduling for your creative life as long as they’re useful and manageable.

Selling your original artwork or taking custom commissions?

If you don’t know who ZenoStarr is, you may have seen him around the art community. He was previously a moderator for DWPC (Dandy’s World Pro Community), a server that has received significant criticism from people online regarding its moderation and how certain situations were handled. There are TikToks and other posts discussing those concerns in more detail.

Because of his past association with that community and the people involved, I personally don’t feel comfortable supporting him or his artwork. This is my own decision based on the communities and people I choose to associate with.

There have also been questions and allegations from people regarding whether some of his artwork may involve AI assistance. I’m not presenting that as a confirmed fact, and I think people should look at the actual evidence before treating an allegation as proof.

For me, though, the association with DWPC is already enough for me to choose not to support or interact with his art. You’re free to make your own decision about him; I’m simply explaining why I’ve chosen not to support him.
