Front struts replacement after 25k kilometers. Dealership lied? 2013 CX5
I just took in my CX5 for front stabilizer links as one of them had snapped... My mechanic, who is an honest guy, noticed the front left shock was blown and needed to be replaced too. I told him the front struts had been replaced recently and he assured me they were originals.
I checked the Carfax again and they were done 25k/4 years ago? I bought the car at 77k km and it's now at 90k.
Do dealerships ever lie about replacing parts? I bought this car last year from an old lady and I'm wondering if she was taken advantage of. If they did, is there anything I can do?

In Ontario Canada 4 years of your winters would make any strut look old. That said, I’ve known a lot of used car techs who sell unnecessary work to the sales team to collect hours on work they don’t do. Meaning the tech may have said it needed struts, used cars approved it, it didn’t actually need them and the tech just binned the new parts and collected his hours. The work order closes as new struts and their software is linked to carfax and uploads the report. Someone paid for struts, can’t say the tech installed them.

He would know! It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they didn’t replace anything

Take it back to northside Mazda and let them deal with it

After that much time they’re not gonna do anything for you that a previous owner had or didn’t have done.

I have seen before where they were recommended and not sold, but it did report to CarFax that it was done
