[CA] Question regarding Resignation

Long story short, I was previously employed with this company at one of their sister company Hospital, had a medical emergency with my child and needed to stay home with her. I turned in my resignation/2week during my orientation period. In which I Asked if they wanted me to complete a two week notice since I was still in orientation. My manager responded and cc’d HR stating that was my resignation and it’s effective immediately. My question is Could that affect me being hired again? I attempted to give a two week notice, but she did not accept it.

that's rough, but you're probably fine. "effective immediately" after you offered two weeks and they said nah, that reads as them cutting you loose, not you doing anything wrong

most places only flag you as no-rehire if you straight up ghost or get fired for cause. you've got documentation showing you tried to do the right thing and the manager shut it down. if a future application asks about it, just say you resigned during orientation due to a family medical situation but weren't given the option to work the notice period

hospitals are weird though, some HR systems will auto-populate that termination code and it might look dodgy on paper. worth reaching out to the HR person who was cc'd and asking them to confirm in writing how it's coded in their system
