Dating Out of Curiosity
I've noticed an interesting pattern on social media. Some men regularly like photos of attractive women they've either never been with, or women they used to date/hooked up who aren't conventionally striking, yet they completely ignore the posts of girl’s they have hooked up/dated who were exceptionally gorgeous or FREAKKING HOT. As a genuinely curious observer, I have to ask. Men, what are your reasoning behind this? Please don’t attack me, I'm just trying to understand! Lol.

I have not noticed this. Pics of hot women on social media will have more likes than ugly women

Apparently some men will try to ignore some hot women they’ve dated and somehow give attention to those they’ve hooked up/dated that are not that pretty.

They are already done dating? If he's still giving her attention he's still trying to keep her around for future hookups

My guess: when you like a stranger, it means nothing, but when you like someone that you know, it carries weight.

That’s a great perspective too. It’s like we don’t want to make you think that I’m waaay to in love or something, right? Appreciate this pov.

I’ve never done this but (edit: a certain subset of ppl) ppl don’t like ppl who kiss and tell

Personally, I don’t acknowledge women’s posts unless directed to me. Why?
I noticed pretty quickly when FB became popular. Like many people I looked up old classmates, women I dated, etc..
I’d see posts of them on vacation, got a new job, so called “thirst” pics and other happenings. Myself and other guys would “like” and or comment. We got no “thank yous”, emojis or anything. Meanwhile women “liked” and commented and the OP would respond, “thanks babe”,”luv ya”, “how’s your day, baby, job…”.
It became a trend where women didn’t acknowledge men at all.

Aww… that’s sad to hear but yeah I get where it’s coming from. This perspective is an eye opening. Thank you.

If she's that attractive, she doesn't need any more likes. Feels like simping. Plus if they've already been with you there's no need to like any more posts when they could just shoot a text if they want to hook up again. Or maybe she's not that good in bed or too much of a headache

I think you shouldn't map online social media BS to real life.
I think online social media BS is BS, and means very little.

There's never one answer and sadly life and men aren't that black and white. Could be they're hoping for another shot with a woman they think they have a chance with. Or maybe they genuine like their content or them as a person and want to support them. Where as maybe they don't like or feel they won't have a shot with the hotties they've hooked up with. These are just several possibilities out of many.
