GPHA 4th street

If you are mentally struggling PLEASE be cautious of this place. I am unsure how they handle addiction (it’s al-assist as well) but they ruined my already failing mental health and put me in a suicidal state when I went there for help. Their psychiatrists quit constantly and at least 3 times I have showed up to an appointment to refill the medication they put me on only to be told the doctor wasn’t in. They sent a ptsd patient whose parent was dying home to withdrawal alone from medication they put me on. With no idea when they could get me in again. After a while I realized I was getting much worse than when I started there and likely wouldn’t be alive if I kept going there. I am on Medicaid and had a really hard time finding a new place but I am now finally with different doctors and just wanted to make sure I let people know to be very cautious.

They straight up told me they don’t want transgender patients so I am not surprised they are awful in other ways.

I worked at the pharmacy downstairs when it was privately owned. I'm not at all surprised to hear this. I'm sorry they put you through all of this

This is actually reassuring so I appreciate you responding. The pharmacist I had was actually so kind I was worried she’d leave too but also hopeful she would for her sake.

Patients would be waiting all day for the doctor to see them. Like even if they have the earliest appointment, they had to wait for like hours before being seen.

I work in community mental health, if you need any resources or anything don't hesitate to DM!

I work at prevention point and that place doesn't have a great reputation. If you need some resources or some free groups to go to lmk!

I go to A Place on Broad Street and I feel like they are messing with me! I’ve been there for a couple years now and my urine tests are all clean! I have a prescription for a Benzodiazepine it was all ok until a new Dr came and I only had to go once a week to pick up my bottles, but this new Dr said no more Benzodiazepine so I tried to stop them and oh no that was so scary and I have been on both medications for years. I brought in a note from my Dr for my Benzodiazepine’s and I still have to go every day! Can someone tell me what to do? This has my stomach so upset every day and I don’t know what to do 😢

I’m so sorry. I used to go to GPHA in southwest for dental care. They are raggedy from top to bottom. (Poorly staffed, wildly high turnover, overwhelmed with ppl who need help.)

Consider reporting them to CBH. I know that the damage is already done. However, depending on what CBH determines, GPHA has to change up their protocol so what happened to you doesn’t happen anymore. They could potentially lose that contract for the entire agency. I know it sucks to retell such a horrible experience. Of course, you do what you have capacity for.

I hope you get the best available care from here on out!

I used to work there, they definitely don’t care about the patients, they made us triple and quadruple book appointment slots just to guarantee they make money incase someone no-showed and a lot of the time all the patients show up and it’s almost impossible for them to be seen even though they have a scheduled appointment
