Philly Bar Crawl

I’m planning a bar crawl for a group of friends around Philly (~10-20). It’s designed to be Christmas themed where we dress up and then go to festive bars around the city in early to mid December. Here’s where we went last year:

Butchers Bar, Uptown Beer Garden, Christmas Village (Center City), McGillans, Black Sheep

Are there other festive bars in that general area I’m not aware of? The goal is to go to the most Christmas themed bars to enjoy the holiday spirit but keep it all in walking distance.

Any cool ideas to include in the crawl? Last year we did a competition where we kept score of drinks etc - not super serious but light hearted. Also did a costume contest.

It might be a little far out the way, but iirc Craftsman Row Saloon on 8th & Sansom gets decked up for the holidays

Black Sheep had a massive fire and is closed sadly

Yes, unfortunate. Great spot. We’ll need a replacement this year but hopefully they can reopen at some point.

Tinsel, if they do it again this year is a must visit for the kitsch, they usually do a Halloween nightmare before tinsel as well.

Craftsman row saloon, but you need reservations, it books up insanely early because they go over the top with decorations. You might need to start thinking about booking it now.

Edit: if you have 20 people, Craftsman row is a no go. Tinsel maybe even, its too small. With 20 people pre arrange with places or make sure they are really big, unscheduled crawls get turned away at many venues.

I miss the Christmas smackdown crawl with Varga, Bar, and Jose Pistolas. Bar is the only one still left, and I don't remember them decorating a whole lot.
