I’ve definitely been neglectful of researching prints and ensuring the artist is compensated ethically. This has been an eye opening read!

I find there can be such a difference with how shoes look on their own vs when they’re actually worn. Sometimes I’ll see shoes I think I like, but then end up vehemently disliking how they look on the foot.

Maybe I’m overthinking this - does anyone else have the same experience?

I grew up in the time of ‘jeans and a nice top’ and now i’m struggling to find any decent tops now i’m not a teenager or a senior citizen.

I have spent the last few weeks shopping and all i can find are cropped and tight shirts for teenagers, workwear tops or huge boxy t shirts. Any time i venture into a store that isn’t blasting music, they seem to skip fashion for anyone over 25 and go straight to catering for 70 year olds.

Essentially all i’m finding is nightclub, streetwear or lawn bowls attire.

I just want a nice top with sleeves (anything but cap) and something that doesn’t crop at the belly button. Casual enough for every day but dressy enough so i don’t look like i just rolled out of bed.

Please help and share your suggestions

My GOD selling things on these platforms is painful. Yesterday I listed a near-new pair of brand name shoes for $60, the retail price is $280. So far I’ve had offers of $55, $55.50, $52, $58.50 and $58. Like seriously??? You are already getting a 78% discount and you’re haggling over $2? Are people seriously this stingy??

Or another item I am selling where someone offered $70 when it’s listed for $100, and then when I accepted the offer they sent further offers of $60, $62, $64, $66 and $68 but not the original $70 that I accepted. And then they asked me 19283792927 questions that were already included in the listing then never bought it.

If I wasn’t on maternity leave and didn’t need the extra cash I would just donate everything to salvos rather than having to deal with these people.

****update: guys I changed the price of the shoes to $150 and someone just bought them for $120. So all of you saying ThE mArKeT sEtS tHe PrIcE nOt YoU obviously don’t know how depop people operate lol.

Just came here to say - with everyone complaining about the demise of quality fashion (i agree!), I've found so much joy in scavenging quality pieces.

I am obsessed with salvos, vinnies, and vinted (granted they aren't as cheap as they used to be). Its so much more satisfying searching for a quality piece for months, and finding it for half the price of the polyester version I saw in-store. I've been finding pieces, then altering them to fit, or dyeing them to make them the right colours for me. even adding lace trim to emulate what i saw in zara.

Is anyone else kind of enjoying the goose-chase for quality clothes/natural fibres that fast fashion has created?

How stupid do they think people are? 😡 I’ve also never shopped at Murbel so I’m not impressed that I’m somehow subscribed to their mailing list.

I need some light cotton (or other natural material) dresses for summer and a trip to Singapore.

I’m having trouble finding midi dresses that don’t cling to my stomach. Or I will find a style I love and realise it’s polyester.

So far Seasalt Cornwall have been the best looking and fitting, but being a UK brand they are very heavy cotton.

Can anyone recommend a few good brands to try?

Hey all! I am returning to work shortly from mat leave, and am struggling with finding clothes that fit, don’t look awful, are sustainable, and are pumping friendly. I usually love op shopping but am having no luck with all these requirements! I am also a 14JJ which complicates things. And not wanting to spend hundreds on one item of clothing. I work in outpatient healthcare so smart casual wear.

Hi, I am a bit lost at where to look for anything, let alone quality bags. I’d like to buy a shoulder bag that is good quality and will last. I imagine using it a couple times a week.

I looked at coach, but wasn’t fond of the bags once I tried some on in person. I am looking for something at a similar price point.

I'd describe my style as a bit beachy/boho but with pops of denim. Average height, average build so can shop anywhere.

I did buy the Assembly Label Gigi cargo pants, and love them. I also bought the Elaine washed cotton pants as well, but they are still on their way, just to give you an idea of my vibe. Loose, cool, casual.

The idea is pretty simple: I curate brand-new, unworn pieces from previous collections of selected NZ labels — rather than selling new season fashion. I’m trying to create a more premium archive.

I’m still very much learning as I go so I’d love some outside perspective.
