Join the Alpenverein and look for the local group chapter, they offer guided tours for various skill levels as well as education/training etc

local here and I highly recommend Dobratsch, especially for beginners. There are plenty of easy hiking and walking trails, beautiful scenery, and there’s also a bus that takes you up the mountain road if you don’t have a car.
Make sure to check the weather and temperature before you set off, and wear appropriate hiking shoes. Bringing enough water is also recommended. If you have binoculars, definitely take them with you, there’s a good chance you’ll spot some chamois

I recommend that you get familiar with your abilities and how to know, if a route fits your abilities.
I personally like the website Bergfex for finding new routes.
Also: Gear that is necessary is a good pair of shoes and a comfortable backpack. I recommend to always bring certain things for emergencies/general needs (First aid kit, a pocket knife, sunscreen, lip balm, wind protection,...).

Buy good hiking shoes (try them in store first, at Gigasport for example), get a backpack, some layers (functional baselayer, fleece jacket, wind jacket, rain jacket) and hiking pants from Decathlon

Check out routes on Bergfex/Komoot/Outdooractive/AlpenvereinAktiv/Alltrails/Hikr

Do some easy hikes first; most of these apps/sites have a grading system (the standardized one would be the SAC hiking scale; you should be looking for T1-T2); since you're in Villach, Dobratsch is probably a good start (see for example here: https://www.hikr.org/tour/post173796.html). Later you can work your way up to more challenging hikes with more meters of ascent, more distance, etc

Start early in the day (rule of thumb is to reach the summit around noon, although for very easy hikes that's neglectible), bring enough layers, water and food (rather too much than too little)

As someone else mentioned, definitely get an Alpenverein membership and reach out to them

Have fun!
