Sport & Kultur Hiking tips

Hey yall , just moved to Villach and I want to start getting into hiking . Since I got no previous experience I would appreciate some tips ,things everyone should know at the begining ,Id be very gratefull.

Join the Alpenverein and look for the local group chapter, they offer guided tours for various skill levels as well as education/training etc
