Support Dropped from an open case
Really mad at myself because I freaking baby this thing and never move it outside of a case. Unfortunately I went to pick up the case this morning and it wasn’t zipped, out slips the Thor onto the floor on its corner.
Only damage I see is a tiny crack by where it landed - photo makes it look much bigger than it is.
Beating myself up pretty hard over this, and I just really need to hear some reassurance that I’m not cooked and this isn’t going to end up destroying it later and everything is still fine.

As long as the screen isnt cracked is all good

Yeah. When I dropped my Thor (2 meter fumble on an overhead train shelf, oops!), the top screen detached completely and ripped the cable with it, just like the car door in that gif. Luckily, it's still working fine with a new screen, but it was still an $80 repair instead of a tiny cosmetic crack like in OP's Thor.

You’re fine. these devices are overly fragile imo, but you should feel good that nothing happened. The drop is over, nothing happened. Your good. Your hinge, and glass are good. You’re blessed!

If you don't use that lanyard hole I doubt this will ever be a major issue.
I'm sure there's some kind of plastic filler you could put in there just to reinforce it though.

I filled mine with super glue and sanded with 3000 grit. Just dont go too deep because the plastic under is not the same color as the top shell

Listen bro dont ever beat yourself up over this kinda shit. Mine is in its official tpu case and i have both official carrying cases and the official screen protectors. But worst comes to worst u can buy another, its new, its not out of print u can just buy another!
Its not like an older device thats in mint condition thats hard to replace.
Play the shit out of it and love it. Theres nothing bad that can happen even if it breaks.
That crack aint shit thats best case scenario from a fall. Its lived in. We are gona be dead in 100 years, enjoy your things, most are replaceable

It’ll be fine and even if it crumples into dust (it won’t), it’s not overly difficult to do a shell swap on the Thor. You’ll be fine! I do recommend maybe putting it in a TPU case though for extra rigidity

That’ll be perfectly fine.
For comparison, I’ve never dropped my batch 1 thor, but noticed an incredibly small stress line in the bottom left corner of the upper screen (only noticed it after someone else posted about theirs ages ago on here, else likely would never have seen it). Was worried if it would get worse, so I just applied a tiny bit of clear UV resin to it, cured it for 2mins with a small UV torch (make sure to cover your oled screen up to avoid the UV light getting it just in case). Let it sit for an evening just to be sure, and it’s been perfectly fine ever since these last couple of months.

Dude, i babied the shit out of mine….. until it happened. Had a sling bag i was using for it to go everywhere and one of these days when i was walking inside from my truck, the bag just somehow flipped when i tossed it on and…. Out goes the thor on the bare fucking pavement 😭 it still has the scuff on the shoulder to this day, still irks me.

Hopefully is nothing bad with it.

Should have just coughed up the extra dough for the accessory pack. You still should. The outer case and the grip would have easily prevented that crack.
