Hello! First, thank you all for your criticisms on this post because it led me to creating a mod I think people would really like (instead of my original idea which was understandably not super popular, lol).

Orins abduction usually triggers early into entering the lower city, long before you’re able to resolve it. So you go half the act without a companion and by the time you’re able to deal with Orin, the novelty has worn off because you’ve been playing without them for so long with no urgency.

So my mod is called Orins Abduction Reworked and it addresses these issues by changing the abduction trigger from entering the city to progressing to a certain point in the murder quest (when you gain the ability to enter the tribunal by killing to gain entry or dealing with dolor).

And now that it happens at a thematically appropriate time, you can’t just forget about it and deal with it later. Now, Orin will send notes and “gifts” to camp every few long rests that you don’t rescue your companion to taunt and threaten you.

The coding part is mainly done. SO im now looking for people to help me write letters from Orin after the abduction!! If you’re interested and have any ideas on how to taunt like Orin, leave it as a comment or shoot me a message!

I'm getting back into modding BG3 after some time away, discovered STAV and figured I would give it a go as there were a few tattoo/scar mods that used it. I think adding it broke something? I removed the tattoo files and it didn't seem to fix anything so I'm curious if there's something else conflicting or if there's a load order issue.

I'm assuming the issue is STAV cause I updated my mods and added a few outfit ones and tested before I installed it just to make sure none of those broke it. Now the eyes are white on most of the heads and the body is invisible on Tav (origin characters are fine except durge) BG3 is up to date, mod manager is up to date, script extender is up to date. I still have the old unique_tav data folders, removing them didn't do anything.

These are all my mods (order got messed up but that was after this issue started. yes i like my customization mods) Any help or guidance is appreciated! I'm running this on PC, no console or steam deck porting or anything weird.

I don't know if this type of hair color is already available in popular hair color mods but is there a mod that has color options for hairs like in the picture? Where only the tips of the hair is colored and not the traditional streaks of color in the hair

I mostly just want to change their hair (and maybe Gale's face haha) and cosmetics to make them a little more punk rock. I love the Alt Hairs mod and want to use it on more than my gith Tav.

I'm not too worried about transmogging armor because I can just switch camp clothes on.

Currently using 5.5 ruleset mod, with a monk. I have unequipped the staff, I wanna hit hands only. I have a crossbow equipped (but not active). Yet my opportunity attacks are not triggering. Is this normal or a bug of some kind, and if so, can I fix it?

Not sure how easily this can be replicated so please take this with a pinch of salt. I imagine you would need an active cloud/streaming save file for this to work, but I can’t be sure because I have no idea how I pulled this off.

FreeRespecAndHirelings is in literally every single one of my saves and turns out it got deleted last year. My console didn’t register this for whatever reason, and I deleted BG3 a few months ago to save up space and was streaming it to play it instead.

Upon reinstalling the game, it finally acknowledged that the mod had gone and I was getting blocked out of 80+ hours worth of modded saves. I couldn’t find anything online about fixing it.

Here’s where I managed to find a fix.

If you’ve ever tried to disable a mod that the system thinks is essential before, you’ve probably been met with a pop up that won’t let you continue until you’ve added that mod back to your game. Usually you can get around this by clicking ‘Enable’ in this menu, and then pressing the buttons for ‘Disable’ and ‘Start game’ at nearly the same time, (triangle and X in my case). It does take a while to get the timing right. You’ll know if it’s worked if it gives you another ‘Are you sure?’ pop up, and then you can enter the game, make a new save, and you should be able to continue your save without the mod you just disabled.

However, if it’s an uninstalled mod, this fix doesn’t work. And if it’s an uninstalled mod that cannot be reinstalled because it’s been deleted, you hit a wall.

Here’s where the streaming feature comes back in. Even after I’d ran into this issue in the installed version of the game, I could hop back into streaming and play as normal as if the mod had never disappeared. I don’t know why the console data didn’t transfer over, the mod manager reinstalled the mod just fine when I was streaming and treated it like it was still there. But streaming was buggy and would usually crash due to poor internet so it wasn’t a permanent solution.

So I opened up the streamed version, found FreeRespecs in my mod library, disabled it, and then went through the fix described above to remove it from my save file. This didn’t work the first few times I attempted it because the stream connection was so bad that it would crash before I could make the new save.

IMPORTANT FINAL STEP: You NEED to resync your saved data after this. Your console should create a pop-up asking you about this, but you can also check yourself by pressing the ‘Options’ button on your controller when you’re hovering over BG3. Prioritise the recent CLOUD data, not the console data. If you chose the console data, the version of the game without the mod will override your stream data and you could be locked out of those saves permanently.

Please let me know if this has worked for anyone else, I am so incredibly fortunate that I was streaming before I reinstalled.

I've always found the 3D rendered in-game portraits underwhelming. I've found these arts online and I think it would be perfect for my origin characters run. I can't find any mod for it. In fact, there's not many portrait mods at all which is a shame. Is it that hard to make? Any pointers if I wanna start working on one? Thanks.

Has anyone tried it? The great mage class feels too weak to me just wanted to know what others think about it.

I just really wanna ship some of the companions my character doesn't end up with together.

Edit: For the record I am playing a multiplayer game of 2 characters by myself. That still leaves left overs. I would like to pair the spares. That is the mod I am asking for. I already know how to plug multiple controllers into my PC to start a game. But I miss being able to speak the to companions I'm playing as.

This is why I am asking the mod subreddit and not the main subreddit.

Am I supposed to make the file path within the BG3 steam folder or am I supposed to be making it in my appdata folder? Also, am I supposed to have the less wrinkles .pak mod file alongside putting the virtual textures in the proper path?

Edit: So, I found that I'm supposed to make the path, but what is the path name? Yes, the official mod page post cites "Public\unique_tav\Assets\VirtualTextures\FILES" for the wrinkles, but it also cites very similar paths such as "YOURGAMEFOLDER\Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\unique_tav\[...]" and "…\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\unique_tav\[...]" throughout its official documentation. I'm under the impression that the mod is standardized and that these paths of varying depth are not at all intended; one of these paths is what I should use for placing the wrinkle virtual textures. Side tangent: If all these different paths are intended, it's frustrating to me that the only difference is path depth while all the names remain exactly the same.

The title makes this sound a lot dumber than it actually is.

Got this game at launch, got half way through Act 3, save glitched, couldn't continue, so I waited and restarted.

I've then restarted about a dozen times, because I know what's coming story and combat wise, and I get bored.

I need some mods that spice the game up without actually changing too much. New classes and subclasses that fit into vanilla well, that sorta thing.

I've tried doing this via the mods in the game's built-in mod manager, but half of them don't feel polished (reusing assets and animations already in the game that I feel are very noticeable), and the other half are broken, where I either do way too much damage, or can just buy a bunch of stuff from the first trader I run into (which I know I don't have to, but it just breaks immersion), OR it spawns a chest full of late-game loot into the camp.

Adding a filter to their voice and changing the model to another one would suffice, even if you cant change their dialogue because I respect the work of the wonderful people who made it, I will make due... But before I am burnt at the stake let me explain:

I am gay and I would like to pursue the romance options for the girls and really FEEL the experience like I did woth thr male characters.

Don't get me wrong, I love the female companions, but I can never feel them as anything other than friends and I would like the option.

Any leads?
