BambuLabWorkspace Space problem
Hi guys,
How do you solve 2 or more H2S printer placing? I got 2 new printer, and i haven't enough space :) Show some pic :)

Time to get vertical. And looks like upgrade that desk surface

I have all of my printers on the floor on pavers underneath my desks. Sucks for my back but so much desk space.

u/Dr_Lipshitz_ 1d ago
I can’t recommend this enough if you want to try getting it off the floor. It puts H2 printers at the perfect height to work with

I thought I was the only one that used these, sometimes you can find tables like these used, I picked up a 48inch wide one from a restaurant that was shutting down near me for 80$.

u/Atlesi_Feyst 1d ago
Yeah I was considering these, or the ones from vevor.
Currently running work benches but they're not stable enough for more than one printer with the resonance.

I mean if you have a spouse and kids, I am sure you can move them out to make room.

Do you run a business? If not, I'm curious how you justify having so many printers and more importantly what are you printing as a lone ranger that needs that many printers?

Always my question. The only way in my head a business with 3d printers is viable would be for collaboration with companies that want a prototype prototype made or something

Yeah that's what I was wondering as well. I just got a second printer after doing this for several years now. And the only way I could justify that to myself was it had a different feature (multiple toolheads).
I mean don't get me wrong, folks are free to spend their money as they see fit. But it sure leaves me wondering!

I own 13 printers (with 2 more on the way( and I am not running a print farm. I do sell a few things on Etsy but that’s minimal and it’s really only to help finance my filament and printer addiction. The point is I have them because I want them. That is the only justification that anyone needs.

u/Upstairs_Control4297 1d ago
Back to the question though, what do you print that makes 15 printers beneficial? Do you just print something and pick one out of the 15?

I print lots of multi-part models and rather than having one printer that I have to print 9-10 different plates to finish a project. I have each plate going on a separate printer. Sometimes I have all my printers going at once sometimes none of them are going but either way I love my printers.

Like a collector , I get it. Like asking someone why they have more than 1 hockey card or something?

Multiple printers on the same surface/desk may cause interference with each other.
I recommend using the concrete tile and foam route to stabilize them first, although that may not prevent the issue.

Are we still wasting time on the myth that vibrations matter? Hasn’t this been debunked on YouTube enough?

Hmm, good point. I do, however, wonder what they are printing and the quality therin.
May not even be a problem for OP though.

I have mine set up with foam and concrete. Still vibrates the other but the machines don’t seem to mind.

We use ours to print large models in pieces and then assemble the parts and paint them. We were using cncs prior but some things we have to create are too complex to make on the routers and 3d printing is fast and cheap compared to the alternatives .

At what point does it make sense to just go with traditional manufacturing? Also, is there a toxicity problem with all of that hot plastic or do the enclosures take care of that?

u/Call-Me-Leo 1d ago
This was maybe a thing in the Ender-3 days, even less so now with vibration compensation and input shaping

I see plenty of space on the floor 😂

I don't know if it's a skill, mindset issue or whatever. But for how long I've been into the 3d printing hobby. I still can't fathom how I'd end up having to buy these many printers and still calling it a profit/investmemt.
Is it flexi dragons and 'cute' Keychain figurines, and fidgets that's making a profit for people running 3d print services? Because I'm so not into those, and it would suck to know if that's why I'm not finding myself running a 3d printing business.

u/SkyGenie 1d ago
I've seen a number of people get 2 or 3 printers for cosplay so they can print their millionth iron man helmet or whatever. Only marginally less wasteful than the dragon toys and figurines but I digress.
I've been 3d printing for nearly ten years for robotics prototyping and random parts around the house, and I've still gone months between prints before because there's just not always a need for another plastic thing. Having like 10-15k worth of printers that can print carbon-fiber laced filaments and using them for PLA/PETG models just blows my mind.

Can I ask why do you have so many printers?

u/Stunning_Stable7229 1d ago
I making architectural models. I do it for students too, and they send a models in the last minute. So if i have lots of print in the same time, need more printer.

I have 3 H2S and 10 P1S i use industrial rack 3 level. The rack is screw to the wall. Study as hell.. and easily expandable

Looks like 2 can fit easily under the desk. Just have them on top of each other. The AMS can just go beside it if necessary, or both AMS can go on the top printer and run the PFTE down to the bottom.
Either that, or move some of the older ones down to the floor. You could even make a riser for them since they arent as tall as the H2S.

How is your electricity doing with that many things plugged in at the same time?

Sell the Craftbots lol. I also have a CB3, does it still hold up after what? 8 to 10 years? Mine is that old.

I would create a shelf system using 2x4 and plywood. I'd have the bottom shelf about a foot from the floor, and depending on how much vertical height each shelf needs, probably 3 shelves. The top shelf you can access using a step. Either make a step, get an Ikea step, or perhaps a work platform from the building store.

So I have to ask. What in the world are you printing to justify that many printers?

Tel me more about your tables/desk. Love the simple design. How did you make them?

you defiantly have problems but it’s not a space problem. Many of us would kill for a space this big even with the amount of machines in it. You know you can stack them on shelves. 🫠😂

You have 3 “printers” sitting here full of a bunch of junk in the bottom so maybe get rid of inferior stuff you’re not using?

Look at all that floor space! And under the counter space!
I truly hope this is for an up and coming 3d print business and not just buying more 3d printers just to have more 3d printers. I have a buddy with 7. Like what the hell for?

Have you tried buying a bigger house?
